Good. Saves more money, FTR.

Revis costs about $6.5m against the cap this year.

Clever play be NE. That said, it's still a better contract for a team in their position; overthecap.com lists an insane $25M cap hit in 2015. I'm assuming that his $20M 2015 salary vanishes if he gets cut, but that's still $5M minimum in dead money dedicated to a player that can't be tagged (nor a player that you can collect draft pick compensation on).

Ironically, you and I have switched sides of the Idzik debate with respect to Vick. I understand the need for a veteran backup, but believe they picked the wrong guy. Not happy at all with this one.

I like to win and Michael Vick is probably better than Geno, but I don't care. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Poop to this move.

A few things:

1. Rex did an interview with the team's website and compared Darrin Walls to a relief pitcher, so there's no way he's considered the current starting CB opposite Milliner.

2. It was reported that Goodson's contract was restructured back in September, so they probably got him to take less money to spare his release, so it's not like they are currently trying to save a few more bucks.

3. It's amazing the number of animal lovers/activists who are on the Jets' Facebook page. Many of them are wishing Vick gets paralyzed playing the sport.

Woody is currently writing checks that his GM can't cash.

Joe Caporoso @TurnOnTheJets

#Jets receive 4th round pick (!), 137 overall. Three sixth round picks, 209, 210, 213

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

Idzik on the Jets' offseason: "Don't mistake 'deliberate' for not being active. Action doesn't always equal achievement, though."

Tell me thats not right out of the Sandy Handbook.

That's a result of last year's free agency (when the Jets were cap-strapped), not this year's (when the Jets are overwhelmed with space.)

Jets were a stealth team on Jared Allen, per Schefter, with Rex and Karl Dunbar doing the recruiting.

Hmmm, who do you think squashed this possibility? I wonder....
