The Bucs trading or cutting Revis means the Jets will only receive the TB 4th round pick instead of their 3rd round pick. That's a bit of a bummer, but goes to show you TB really ended up on the wrong side of the deal.

Holmes officially cut, btw.

Jets have been linked to a lot of players. Hopefully they can land a top CB, a solid safety and one of the better WRs out there. They also need to re-sign Austin Howard.

That may certainly be, but still don't think that means the Jets ended up on the "right" side of it.

Dealing the best player in franchise history for Dee Miliner and whoever we get in the 4th round this year because of a salary dispute is never gonna be a good thing. It just so happens that Tampa looks worse, having given up picks and money to have Revis on board for one terrible year, franchise-wise.

I think we took Sheldon Richardson with the Bucs pick (could be mistaken).

Richardson was, indeed, drafted with the pick acquired from Tampa Bay.

Here's a scary thought, though: I found a draft day report that said the Jets took nearly all their time on the clock before announcing the pick. The report said that was probably a sign they were trying to trade down, but found no takers.

Imagine if they'd let him slip through their fingers. And how about any team that needed a D Lineman, but turned down the Jets' offer?

How does Darrelle Revis feel about a Jets reunion? I'm told he would love to play for Rex & his old team again. Emphasis on "love" #nyj

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

They would have taken Richardson with their other pick had they not traded Revis. Almost positive that was reported.

The Milliner pick was a direct response to the trade of Revis. Keep Revis, and they don't draft Dee.

Wow, Jets targeting Mojo Drew per the Daily News.

If he didn't look so absolutely cooked last year, I'd be mildly excited about this.

If nothing else, pairing he and Mike Vick gives us a great dynamic offense 3 years ago.

EDIT: Nevermind. Missed the news that the Vick talks died down. David Garrard still out there? Recreate this magic: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/t ... x/2007.htm

And there goes Talib to DEN, after Davis/Indy and Verner/TB earlier, which completes the CB trifecta. So much for the Jets getting involved there.

Kyle Wilson/Dee Milliner starting duo in a man-heavy scheme is scary.

The worst part? Twitter just exploded with national guys speculating on Revis-NE now. Which is why there will never be a "good side" of the Revis trade.

Or the Jets could just be gearing up to sign Revis back since he'd "love" to come back.

Austin Howard gone to Oakland.

Think he's an eminently replaceable talent, but add another thing to the growing shopping list that Idzik is showing little interest in starting on.

Maybe he's "letting the market come to him". My worlds are colliding, and I don't like it.

IF he's cut, he still will want to be paid as the Top CB in the game, which we weren't willing to do last year. Any reason why we would now? If anything, his biggest fan in the org is losing pull versus gaining it.

No sooner is Howard out (5/30 to Oakland now official, per Schefty), is Breno Giacomini (?) in.

9 starts last year. Rotoworld ranked him just ahead of Howard so looks like a lateral move here - maybe saved money?

Giacomini was the starting RT on a Super Bowl winning team. Seems like he'd be cheaper than Howard, and perhaps better. Per Cimini, Idzik drew a line in the sand with Howard and he got a smidge more from Oakland. God bless him if he'd rather play for Oakland.

As for CB, I guess the options are Revis, DRC, bring back Cro, or Captain Munnerlyn.

Eric Decker may be in Jersey right now . Rex better be involved here, not just "line in sand" Idzik.

Landing him changes the game- not Emmannuel Sanders or Golden Tate . Let's get this done please!
