And there goes Talib to DEN, after Davis/Indy and Verner/TB earlier, which completes the CB trifecta. So much for the Jets getting involved there.

Kyle Wilson/Dee Milliner starting duo in a man-heavy scheme is scary.

The worst part? Twitter just exploded with national guys speculating on Revis-NE now. Which is why there will never be a "good side" of the Revis trade.

Or the Jets could just be gearing up to sign Revis back since he'd "love" to come back.

IF he's cut, he still will want to be paid as the Top CB in the game, which we weren't willing to do last year. Any reason why we would now? If anything, his biggest fan in the org is losing pull versus gaining it.

All indications are he will get cut. And the reason we would pay him this year is because we have massive amounts of cap space, which we did not have last year.

That is not why they didn't pay him last year. Having Year 1 cap room in the NFL doesn't mean much. Look at the Saints, who were supposed to be in cap hell, and then gave Jairus Byrd that contract yesterday.

I'm not a huge fan of Cimini, but he made a good point that a lot of the first day of FA involves huge overpays because there's a stampede mentality.

The fans are even more overboard. I heard a lot of WFAN callers lumping DeMarcus Ware in with a lot of the prime free agents. Now, he may have some left in the tank. But the guy those callers are thinking of hasn't played in some time.

I think Revis is in a similar boat and it's hard for anyone who cares about the Jets to be objective. I think it's probably good that Idzik has no ties to the great Revis years.

That doesn't mean Idzik can't be wrong, but his decision won't be clouded by sentimental attachments

Revis is getting released. Mehta talks to someone in Camp Revis who said he to the Pats "is happening."

Also reported: interest in James Jones; can't imagine that's a good development with Decker.

McCown is a Buc. Jets has visit scheduled.

Revis rated out as a top 2 corner last season (maybe even number 1, I forget).

Yeah; there's no doubt Revis is still THE guy at his position, now even further removed from the knee surgery.

Jets source: "I hope Decker gets out of the building before Idzik gets talked into overpaying for him." #nyj

The Jets' very own "Lowered Expectations" campaign!!! The one exciting FA development so far among a 24 hour disappointment fest so far and we're gonna start leaking about overpays.

Its amazing how closely my teams seem to parallel each other right now. Thank god for the Nets and Prokohorov.

Ian Rappaport apparently said on NFLN that Jets are trying to sign BOTH Jones and Decker, which would be quite an turnaround in their WR department. That would be a nice get.

If this follows the Mets' script, then we should have a team source denying they need any new WRs and talk about their focus on building DL depth soon.

I don't have a firm opinion on Idzik and my opinion of Sandy is well known. But the thing I give Billy King credit for is that he realizes that even if you're pretty good, but you're not where you want to be with your current roster, you can't stand pat and hope for improvement with the same people, at least not in the NBA. In other words, I think King has a really good sense of the reality in his sport (as opposed to, say, lamenting how everyone is overpaying at the top of the free agent market and then, when you're finally ready to get involved, lamenting that all the desirable talent is off the board).

Having Prokhorov as an owner certainly doesn't hurt when you're planning your moves, though.

I don't know if I'd say "no doubt" since you really have to see how much he can recover and also what kind of system he gets to play in.

But I was more about separating your emotions from your evaluations. And I think Idzik can do that better than a lot of people, Rex, to name one.

Rex knows a billion times more about football than I do, but I think it's safe to say I had a more realistic idea of where Ed Reed was in his career when the Jets picked him up than Rex did.

I think it's hard for a coach who has as one of his assets the ability to emotionally connect with his players to suddenly turn that off, especially when you're talking about an all-time great. Reed is in that realm and Revis is, too, arguably.

Clearly, just on football terms, Revis would be a no-brainer (although there's the noted issue of how good he can be after the injury).

But the Jets have to weigh a lot of things

On Ed Reed: who did he bench to get Reed in there? Not like he has Ronnie Lott in his prime playing safety. He had some castoffs and a 7th round pick who passed thru league waivers a few times in the past 2 years.

I trust Rex, emotion and all, 100x more than Stoic Businessman Idzik .

Darrelle Revis photographed in Logan Airport. Eff this. This is essentially like when everyone though the Marlins would trade Reyes to the Yanks after 1 year. Except Revis is not just the best at his position in franchise history; he's the best, period. How embarrassing.

Huge news: Jets resign Leger Douzable.

Oh and the Pats signed a guy named Revis.

Idzik should be embarrassed.
