Huge news: Jets resign Leger Douzable.

Oh and the Pats signed a guy named Revis.

Idzik should be embarrassed.

The Jets could have fit Revis in their cap at this time and I think he'll still be very good. Hate the idea of seeing him play for the Pats.

But, cap space or not, the Jets have to fill a lot of holes, which could require spreading the money more evenly than giving one guy almost a third of it. I want to see how things play out with building a whole roster before I get too fired up.

The truth is, too, that the Pats have more incentive to put $12 mil into one impact guy in order to be in position to win in the final years (maybe even year) of the Brady era and then worry about the future after 2014.

I could link to the story that says Rex implored his bosses to sign Revis but was turned away, but that seems kind of obvious, no?

It could be disastrous.

As a lifelong Jets fan, I almost expect it to be.

I'm just holding back, hoping there's a "plan"

Jets sign Decker, 5 years, $36.25M, $15M guaranteed.

Also signed Giacomini.

Said to be also interested in James Jones and have a visit lined up with Captain Munnerlyn, though he first visits the Vikings and Bucs.

Awesome. We got Decker. Now get Sproles, James Jones and Jermichael Finley! Make it a dynamic offense.

Ugh, we really should have signed Revis. Going to need to resign Cro now and hope he can revert back to his 2012 form.

And Chico, there's no question about Revis returning from injury. He was hurt in 2012. In 2013 he came back and rated out as the number 1 corner in football again.

Good. Got Decker. Best FA at the position.

According to most reports, they want another veteran receiver, PLUS a high draft pick there. Which they need. David Nelson can be back as the 5. Kerley in the slot. But there should be 3 new guys - impact guys - otherwise. Bye Stephen Hill, Santonio Holmes, Clyde Gates, and Michael Campbell.

Get me James Jones now. No Emmanual Sanders or Brandon LaFell stuff.

I thought I read Finley was certain to land in Seattle. Maybe that died down.

Owen Daniels is out there. Lots of teams looking for TE help though.

I'd rather have Sanders than Jones. Jones is already 33, will turn 34 in October. Sanders turns 27 in 5 days. Jones still has it, but Sanders makes more sense for long haul.

I really liked Golden Tate. Can play all over the offense, has great hands, and makes people miss. He's going to be a stud as the #2 option in Detroit and came $1M cheaper than Decker.

I don't know if they want to spend money on a slot corner, but Captain Munnerlyn would represent an upgrade on Kyle Wilson. More importantly is getting the other starting outside CB. Options are dwindling.

Jones is 29.

On the CB issue - I assume you're penciling in Milliner as the other starter when you say you need the "other" starting outside CB. Thats scary enough to begin with.

Disregard the post then. In my haste, I read the basketball James Jones' DOB.

Milliner is going to be one of the starting corners. I agree, it is a bit scary, but at least he flashed his ability the final month of the season.

Jets have had some general conversations with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie's camp, I'm told. #NYJ still in market to add a CB. #nyj

Better target than Munnerlyn, although they'd probably do well to get both.

To squeeze 3 decent corners out of this roster, you probably need 2 FA's and the incumbents. At some point we'll have to stop pretending like Kyle Wilson is improving. And if Milliner plays like the first 12 games and not the last few, you need a backup plan better than Darrin Walls.

Pats got an on Revis, too, so Breer thinks his cap # for this year is like $6.5m.

Does ensure he won't be tagged, though.
