They are seriously gambling re: WR. And for a guy they almost certainly could've got today in MacDougle.
We'll see where they come out today but through a draft and a half Idzik had completely ignored WR despite two WR heavy drafts and it being the single biggest organizational need since the Flyboys broke up/became terrible.
The other thing is that taking 9 guys this last day is pointless. You don't have roster space for all those guys. After Amaro, we saw some pretty good (on tape and the box scores anyway) receivers go and I'm wondering why we didn't package some of these picks with our 3rd and come away with one ourselves.
Adams, Latimer, Landry, Robinson: these are talents that had we grabbed, you'd say "great call by Idzik not reaching in the first and coming away with a "like" talent with his third pick".
But we're continuing to wait. Looks like Bruce Ellington, who's not really what we need, or Martavis Bryant, who is Stephen Hill redux in my opinion, are what's left now. I'd guess were gonna take one of those 2 with our first pick today and make the case they are as good as the guys we passed on earlier because receiver is so dang deep, but I dunno.
I'd also look at Pierre Desir and Keith McGill if we're going Seattles model- two big corners who ranked higher than MacDougle by most draftniks. Strength in numbers there.
Desir has a pretty cool story from DII and bein a Haitian immigrant.
On WRs, other than the 2 above, there's former huge prep prospect Shaq Evans from UCLA and another D2 guy in Jeff Janis. Think your chances of finding a late round stud is better there than going to some possession guy with limited athleticism who was his own schools number 2 or 3 option.
I expect the Jets to go WR with their first pick in the 4th. There are still a fair amount I like. Jeremy Gallon, Kevin Norwood, Martavis Bryant, Brandon Coleman, Bruce Ellington, Jared Abbrederis all intrigue me. But, then I look at our WR corps and we don't need another 3/4 receiver. Decker, Kerley, Hill, Jacoby Ford, David Nelson, Greg Salas all are on the depth chart. Granted anyone we draft will slide in behind Kerley or Hill, but we need a number 1 WR. Not another 3 or 4.
I hope we beef up the OL. I count 5 starters already on the roster but both guard spots need upgrades and the team has little depth.

Mixed feelings thus far. I really wanted Cooks in round 1, though I recognize that Pryor is a good prospect and that we've ignored the safety spot for far too long. Like everyone else, I like the Amaro pick and don't understand taking McDougle so early. Hope Rex and Thurman know their corners I guess.
9 picks to go. I'm hoping for WR and G more than anything.

Maybe we plan on going WR heavy all day today. Does this kid even make our team with Kerley, Ford and Salas? Each were better draft prospects in their year.
Second miss in a row here I think. I don't love Pryor but there are smarter folks than me who do so I'll defer.
