really like the Amaro pick. He cant really block as a typical TE but in a scheme that has plenty outside running, hes very good at it. Very good at screen blocking as well. He will help improve the play calling even when hes isnt the target. Excellent pick as long as Jets can utilize his attributes.

Otherwise, the season will be over before we play the Marlins come monday september 26th
I think we'll go with a committee approach at WR after Decker and Kerley. Evans, Nelson, Saunders, and Hill could all see time in certain packages and roles. I think Evans or Nelson will be the official #2 outside WR to start the season, but I don't either of them seeing the field every down.
I think we bring in Saunders to run deep routes, end arounds, and some other plays. Hill and Ford are obsolete now. This reminds me of the Leon Washington pick. I feel like Saunders is the WR version of him.
I expect on a lot of passing downs we'll be going with Decker, Kerley, Amaro, Cumberland, and CJ.
Would not surprise me if Dakota Dozier is starting by the end of the season. He can play.

We obviously prioritized "size" in the UDFA area. Wow.
We got our usual BC UDFA this year in Steele, joining Donnie Fletcher, Chris Pantale and Brian Toal before him. As usual, my thoughts on the BC guy, being an Eagle myself, are what I can contribute here as I've never even heard of the rest of these guys:
DeVito is undersized a bit - his measurables look OK here, but on the field he plays a bit "small." He's not the fastest guy in the world either. He played most of his time at BC alongside Luke Keuchly in the middle and KPL (Kevin Pierre-Louis, a mid round draft pick of Seattle this year) on the other side, so needless to say he probably didn't have the OL's attention much. He's really an effort guy, high energy, all-out on the field, but never thought he had an NFL future, despite having an All-Pro name. We'll see. Certainly has an opportunity here with a pretty barren ILB depth chart behind Davis and Harris.
Obviously I would have loved one of those Round 2 WRs, but I still like our draft. Pryor and Amaro are immediate starters at areas of need. McDougle is a guy who would have been a 2nd rounder if he wasn't hurt, I think he has starter potential, good value. Saunders honestly looks like a faster Kerley, I like what I see from him-- big game production against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl too. Evans and Enanwu are really nice gambles, they have a Cotchery/Boldin feel to them respectively. Dozier is an absolute steel that late in the draft, possible starter as early as this season. I like George, MUCH needed depth behind Harris and Davis at ILB. Hopefully a couple of these 6th rounders pan out, but who knows. I'm meh on Boyd, preferred every single one of the other QBs taken this draft. Reilly is another steel in the 7th round-- dropped because of age, but that doesn't make him any less productive.
All in all we've fixed our special team and depth issues that have plagued us badly the last 2 seasons. There's a chance that every single one of these 12 makes the roster + practice squad. We still need these WR prospects to emerge, and Geno to develop-- but the defense is shaping up nicely, outlook positive.

I guess it depends how many you put on the practice squad, but I don't think you can carry more than 7 or 8 of these guys on your active roster. Just doesn't make sense numbers wise to have so many raw rookies.
Right off the bat, I'd say there is 0 chance all 3 WRs are carried and I don't see how Dixon makes it. Boyd has to beat Simms + carry 3 QBs, which not everyone does (although we always have). Do you carry both late round rushers - IK and Reilly? Probably not since neither is more than a special teams guy with a rotational player ceiling.
Regarding WR's, I think it is far from a lock that Jacoby Ford makes the team. So that might open a spot for one of the receivers too, especially if they can return KO's.

My early prediction would be: WR Shaquelle Evans - Makes roster (Decker, Kerley, Saunders, Evans, Nelson + best of Ford/Enanwu/Hill/Salas/Dwight Jones) G Dakota Dozier - Makes roster (Takes over when Colon inevitably gets hurt) ILB Jeremiah George - Makes roster (Rex all but handed him the Nick Bellore backup role in the post draft press conference) CB Brandon Dixon - Practice Squad (Big upside, but extremely raw, ideal PS candidate) WR Quincy Enunwa - Practice Squad (Needs to refine his technique coming from the stone age Nebraska offense, BUT, I could see him making the 53 man if he shines on specials) DE IK Enemkpali - Cut Odds seem stacked against him with Q/Barnes/Pace/Reilly in the fold QB Tajh Boyd - Practice Squad (I'd prefer the Jets to carry just 2 QBs on the 53 man) OLB Trevor Reilly - Makes roster (This might be optimistic, but I like him)
