If Skrine can cut down on his penalty total, he'd easily grade out positively on PFF.

He's been a "volume" CB the past couple years in Cleveland. He averaged 72 snaps/game last season (2nd most in NFL) and was targeted 123 times (second most in NFL). So, yeah, he's given up some touchdowns.

His completion percentage against was just 56.9%, comfortably below the league average. It's even more impressive when you consider he spent considerable time in the slot.

PFF numbers generally do.

I think with Skrine I'll put my faith in MacCagnan's ability as an evaluator. Plus, Bowles is defensive coach and he certainly had input.

The brain trust has pretty much landed the guys they wanted to land, so I have a hard time thinking they pushed the panic button on Skrine.

That doesn't mean they won't be wrong, but I think they actually wanted Skrine

Cimini posted an amazing fact on his blog today.

D'Brickashaw Ferguson has not missed a snap in his NFL career.

That's truly mind-boggling when you realize he's been involved in heavy-duty contact, with big bodies flying around on all of those plays.

Avoiding big injuries is amazing enough. But never having to come off for a single play--someone steps on the top of your foot, your leg gets twisted in a short-yardage pileup--is incredible

As unlikely as the Mets signing a big Justin Upton like FA this off season, but for fun, Mike Florio's trade proposal:

Mo or Sheldon, next years #1 and #2 for Russel Wilson.

You do it??

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

Torn Achilles for Antonio Allen.

In more positive news, Lorenzo Mauldin apparently had an outstanding day of practice.
