It just occurred to me there was a time, not too long ago, that if the Jets signed four free agent DBs, the popular narrative would have been "Rex is calling all the shots"

Still think we can use one RB (receiving type) and an upgrade on Kerley (draft Cooper?) if possible. Let's give Fitzpatrick as many weapons as possible.

It's hard not to be excited by the team Mac is building right now. Pumped for the NFL Draft

Meeting with Denarius Moore tomorrow. Have to like his skillset as opposed to the "Top 3" right now - good, low cost fit.

5th and 6th (if you carry that many) can come down to some of the holdovers plus any draft picks. Of course, you may want to draft Cooper/White at 6, too, which sets you up great at WR as basically you can fill your roster with the Big 3, Moore + Draft Pick and go from there.

Cro's deal has no guaranteed money beyond 2015. Its a 1 yr, 7m deal with options, basically.

Somehow Maccagnan seems to have figured out the quagmire that is the salary cap in the NFL. I thought only trained professionals such as John Idzik were able to do such wizardry.

What Mike Maccagnan has done so far is nothing short of incredible. He has managed to completely overhaul the secondary and address other key needs, all while guaranteeing little money beyond this year to any of the additions. Outside of Revis, only Harris and Skrine are fully guaranteed for 2016, and only Revis is partially fully guaranteed for 2017.

For most of these guys it's just one year commitments and then it's pay as you go (Cro, Gilchrist, Carpenter, Marshall).

Yup. Specifically with Cro, he's pretty clearly a Milliner insurance policy beyond 2015. They are saying "We want to win now, and so we can't rely on a guy who can't stay on the field. However, we are talking about the #9 pick in the draft 2 years ago, and if he gets right this year with little expectations on him, no reason why he can't re-enter the equation in 2016." Fantastic.

Compare that to "Milliner is great. McDougal is going to be great. And we also got Dmitri Patterson too and he had 4 really good games last year!"

It hasn't gotten the coverage all the big splash moves did, but MacCagnan is steadily adding second-tier free agents in recent days.

I think he knows what he's doing.

I can't say I know ANYTHING about Vickerson, Bowen and Hilliard, nor do I know anything about whether they're going to be here week 1.

But I did like the Kellen Davis signing, as I'm thinking maybe we can get out of that Cumberland contract (one of the few Idzik handed out) as he does nothing for me. Amaro and Sudfeld at move TE, Davis and Pantale in line. No need to be spending any real money on Jeff Cumberland at this point.

Agreed. Except for the Skrine move. I didn't like it when it happened. And like it less after this:

Numero Uno on the list.

I've heard several Browns fans say that they wished their team matched the offer.

Ive heard several Jet fans say that they wished that the Jets would never have cut Mark Sanchez. Not sure what some Browns fans opinions are worth. Numbers don't lie. Skrine has stunk.
