Off to an 1 and 0 start which is always nice. I thought the Browns dominated the first part of the game pretty much but the hit on McCown on the goaline and the Marshall strip after the interception were key. On to Indy in what I think is going to be a tough game with them coming off a loss and it being their home opener.

I don't know what Jeremy Kerley did to get himself benched, but the Jets could desperately use him.

I figure he'll get a chance if Decker is out for any length of time. But why "desperately?" The receivers that played did pretty well last night.

?

Through 2 games, they've pretty much been able to throw the ball wherever they want to whomever they want.

Yeah except Kerley hasn't been out there at all...he had i believe 1 offensive snap against the Colts.

He's clearly the #4 WR #5 behind Marshall, Decker, Owusu. And once Devin Smith comes back, he becomes the outside guy. It seems the new system likes to put Decker/Marshall in the slot, and Kerley isn't a guy you want on the outside at all. Anytime they put one of the big boys in the slot, Owusu lined up outside. Devin Smith I assume will do the same, to give a deep threat on the boundaries. Kerley seemingly just isnt a fit with Gailey's offense.

I'm hoping the Revis groin isn't a problem. Silence on the seriousness of an injury is never that good.

This isn't the Rex Ryan era anymore. Bowles prefers to keep the media in the dark. Besides, it's not uncommon for players to sit out of Wednesday's practice after MNF.

Man, everyone here must be focused on the World Series.

The Jets lost a winnable game in New England and not a single comment until this one.

The reason I say it was winnable is that the Pats dropped something like 10 passes and played with a makeshift offensive line, but the Jets still couldn't get a meaningful play on defense to tip the balance in their direction.

The chances of them dropping 10 passes in the rematch are very unlikely, I think.

I like Bowles' comment about not taking anything from a close loss, but as a fan - and maybe the Mets just have shifted my perceptions on things - I was perfectly fine with the game yesterday.

Yeah, the certainly could have won the game, but the Jets are legit; the played very competitively with a team who hadn't really been challenged all year, on the road, in a game Bellicheck always wants to run the score up in. Very happy to see that - but for a total brainfart in the 1st half against Philly, this team looks 100% like a legit playoff team, which I think is more than could have been expected coming in.

The Jets will be in the playoffs, and they still get another crack at Brady in the Meadowlands in late December, which might be a different story if they try to throw 50-60 passes again.

Very happy with the season so far.

Me, too.

I've really been pleasantly surprised by Fitzpatrick.

He has definite physical limitations, but he strikes me as the kind of QB his teammates respect because he knows what he's doing and he's not afraid to get in the dirt (if they still played on fields that had dirt).

I don't see Fitzpatrick as being someone who will lead a team back from a big deficit, but as long as the defense plays to its capability that's not likely to be needed too often, anyway.

I also like Bowles, although I admit I liked the bravado of Rex, at least in the beginning. Now that I see him repeat the same act in Buffalo, he seems a bit foolish.

Not to take a victory lap on this, but with the introduction of Sheldon Richardson as a stand-up rusher, pretty much puts the nail in the Quinton Coples coffin. What a bust.

I'm souring on Chan Gailey big time. Those calls of throwing behind the line of scrimmage were horrendous calls. The first time was bad enough because the Bills clearly snuffed it out...the defender was right on top of Marshall, but the second time with the game on the line, knowing they snuffed it out once before, was possibly one of the worst play calls ever.
