They've cut Kerley and Cumberland.

Two moves that were telegraphed by roles and PT in 2015 season

Joe B was totally going off on Mikey Mac this morning because apparently the Jets offered Vernon $15 mil per year and still can't come to a contract agreement with Mo. Though i'd imagine Mo is asking for much more than they offered to Vernon

Hey, Giants fan here.

How good is Snacks, exactly?

The best early down nose tackle in the league. I think I read somewhere no lineman has made more tackles on running plays the past three years than Snacks.

He has 1.5 career sacks (despite starting 48 consecutive games), so don't expect him to be a factor against the pass. He won't be on the field on passing downs.

Very good player, but a bit overpaid for a guy who only plays two downs.

The Jets scouting dept has taken a lot of (justified) heat, but he was a great UFA find.

He'll help the Giants. As sluger said, a great run stuffer.

The Jets couldn't afford him any more with their cap situation. It will be interesting to see how things go in future years when the Giants don't have as much cap space.

I loved the Fitz signing and wanted him playing over Geno even before IK. Was happy he proved that line of thinking right.

I'm really fearful of committing actual starter money (15m AAV+) to Fitz, though. There's no great option out there as an alternative but I'm not going to be upset if they try to catch lightning in a bottle with a RG3 as long as there is a draft and develop plan behind it (and maybe that's Petty).

They'll get killed if Fitz leaves but man, the economics of the QB position are wacky. Seems like a spot where bad teams can lock themselves into being bad for a while by burying money into a mediocre guy simply because the market says all starting QBs need to get paid. If you don't have one of the top ~5, the next 15 seem awfully interchangeable.

Brick retiring. Gotta respect the guy to walk away before his brains turn to mush.

Congrats to Brick on a great career. Very happy we took him with the 4th pick in 2006, the first year I followed the draft.

And welcome Ryan Clady.

Here's hoping he can get on the field. And wow...amazing that Brick was never on an injury report in 10 years...EVER....that's crazy!
