only a second round pick. I'd like to see a capoable backup PG, maybe Scott Machado from Iona.
The kid Ware from LB St is intriguing because of his shooting range and was defensive player of the year in his conference in his Jr year. If he can play D, shoot well and show the ability to distribute 10 mins a night in the NBA he will find a career as a backup, downside is he is only 5'10".

This reminds me of a conversation Benigno and Roberts had the day of the draft lottery.
Roberts, a Nets fan, was talking about the state of his franchise and how depressing it felt being in the lottery every year hoping for some good luck.
Benigno, empathizing, said as a Knick fan he knows exactly how he feels, only they usually don't have the pick...
Machado could be a nice pick there but usually when a lot of people mention a guy as a nice choice in the 2nd round he's gone before you figured he would. Seems like a decent prospect without a lot of upside but solid chance to be a back-up pass first PG.
Only I'm not sure the Knicks have the time to develop a PG since they're trying to compete now and will be looking for a vet (or two) in free agency. In other words any PG they net in the 2nd round is not going to play much.
I think they target a vet PG and add a league min 3rd string type PG for depth and draft the BPA in the 2nd especially if it's a SG or an athletic big who can defend.

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?
BPA agreed is the best strategy, with a second rounder I think you realistically are hoping for a solid bench contributor. With that in mind the person being drafted should be able to do something very well but has enough deficiencies in other areas that he doesn't become a late first early second rounder. To me the guys drafted at these positions usually fail, more often than not the solid contributor is overlooked because of size, small school or does something that is not first round material ie play defense, rebound, pass first, sharpshooter.
Most likely whomever is drafted here is gone by the end of training camp or within a year.

BPA for sure. I'd look for a long armed athletic defensive player.
Jeremy Lamb would be perfect...but they don't have a lottery pick or assets.....boom....Knicks trade Amare and Toney Douglas to Golden State for David Lee, Richard Jefferson and their 2012 first round pick!!!!!
