Multiple league sources said the Nets and Nuggets have discussed a blockbuster deal that would bring Anthony and Marcus Camby to New Jersey. In return, Denver would get a package that includes Richard Jefferson, Marcus Williams, Keith Van Horn's contract and the Nets' lottery pick. There likely is more involved to make the salaries match up, but the sources said the trade could happen, making Tuesday even more important.

The Nets, in the lottery for the first time since 2001, have only a 1.1 percent chance of getting the top pick and a less than 4 percent chance of jumping into the top three. They just hope they don't fall from their current spot at 10.

I've been saying there will be a lot of moving around this off-season. I expect major changes in Denver and Dallas as well as a few other places (New York, Chicago, Golden State, Phoenix to name a few)

It only makes sense for New Jersey to do something with one of Marcus Williams or Devin Harris, most likely Williams.

Harris
Carter
Melo
Williams
Camby

That would be a helluva good team in the east

I would welcome this trade with open arms. However, it really is just the start to the "remodeling" process of this team. The Nets get much better with this trade, but they still need somebody alongside Camby for some scoring and defense because Camby is not a one on one defender. If Boone had any offensive game, he would be the perfect complement to Camby, but he does not. S-Will and Camby as starters would also not work in the long run, but would in short run n' gun stretches during the game.

The cap situation would have to be looked at before making this trade because they still need to somehow pick up another piece to slot alongside Camby, and it would probably need to come through a sign and trade.

Awesome one two punch by Thorn to jettison Kidd and score Melo and Camby. Friend of mine at work is one of Melo's best friend, was a guest of his at the All Star game, would be kinda cool for him at least.

Well the ping pong balls didn't help us out. I seriously think the package would have been less costly we wound up with much higher pick, though the odds were against us but we lost a spot.

They didn't lose a spot. They were 10th and will select 10th.

Melo and Carter would be a disaster defensively.

I could deal with this trade if Carter was traded too.

Anthony's defense really isn't to bad, while Camby is severely overrated defensively. It doesnt matter though Anthony won't be traded, but the Nets could possibly move up to #2 and select Beasley. Maybe Marcus and Shawn Williams both their first round picks, and take back some garbage contracts?

The Nuggets have made it fairly clear that they are not moving Carmelo.

I think this trade rumor has to do with one thing only. Kiki. He either wants to bring them over here because he was part of the Nugget organization or some writer wanted to stir things up and immediately associate an unhappy Carmelo and a rather tradeable Camby to a team where there is a connection by their former GM. Not to say I wouldn't want either but I am cynical about how real this deal was.
