How can anyone knock this pick?? Has anyone really seen this guy play enough to knock it??

I have faith in Mike D. and Donnie Walsh (two guys who have a great track record)..that they can make the right decisions for this franchise..

It's becoming a tradition at Knick drafts based on their ineptness both on the court and on draft night.

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

Anyone with any sense of Knicks history would pass on using the high draft pick on the European dude. Frederic Weiss.

Stupid pick for PR reasons, even if the kid turns out to be the second coming of Bill Bradley. Walsh has had two chances to make moves and he's spurned the fans on both of them. Not a good start.

When the Knicks fans chanted the names for Michael Sweetney and Maciej Lampje, they got them.

Many wanted Channing Frye. They got him.

People booed the David Lee pick. He's actually turned out to be one of their better draft picks.

They chanted for Marcus Hatten to be picked in the second round. Actually better off that they didn't even if Slavko Vranes was a bust.

They freaked out on the Balkman pick. Now he's considered a crowd favorite.

The idea that the Knicks, especially a new regime, should cave to what the fans want is something of what a small-market club would do.

Yeah, see, I diagree. IMO, the Knicks have burnt bridges with their fans for both their on and off court behavior. Subsequently, they need to, IMO, make some gestures towards mending those fences. I'm not saying you should cowtow to the fans on every decision ever. I'm saying this offseason, in light of the recent history, that they have not made the 'fan friendly' moves, and while the moves they have made are certainly defensible, I think they also need to make some of their reconstruction moves 'crowd pleasers'.

if i ever heard that the Knicks made an important roster decision based on appeasing fans ... as some marketing ploy/PR gimmick .... that would not make me happy and i don't think that would make most knick fans happy.

I wanted the Knicks to take Bayless .... but if they think Gallinari was the best player ... than i'm going to respect their decision.

Its not like Bayless (or whomever at that point) was going to get the Knicks fans so excited that they would forget these past few years of misery.

This draft is basically irrelevant. The Knicks just have to get James. If he goes to the Nets (who even cares about the Nets? I've never met a Nets fan in my life) I will pull my hair out.
