Hey, the more we lose the higher the draft pick!!!!.........in the 2nd round..

:(

How meaningless is this year w/o the pick..I mean even with the '09 Mets we can hope for Bryce Harper or more realistically AJ Cole..

The Knicks?? Cross your fingers the Jazz don't get the #1 and hope to buy a 1st..lol..

I'd just go Douglas/Chandler/Gallo/Lee/Milicic since we're losing anyway...

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

the kids are good. duhon must have gained 20lbs and is horrid. chandler is a joke. harrington is a master at killing a team.
toney douglas is excellent and it's showing. he should play 40 minutes. hill looked like an animal last night and mike d called the rest of the team zombies. he's right!

they suck. play toney, hill, gallo and i guess hughes for d and lee. there going to lose. let the kids make this team interesting. oy vey

I'd play Douglas a ton. Paul, you were right, this kid is the goods.

I still like Nate (am I the only one??), but if you can package Nate and Lee along with Curry and Harrington and get back an expiring contract and a pick, you have to do it.

What's to like?? Honestly if he weren't so short and extraordinarily athletic he'd be a relatively unknown 10th man on someone's bench..

Kinda like how some scouts don't like pitchers under 6'1, I personally do not like shoot first point guards- I have a huge bias against them!! It's the only reason I didn't want Marbury back in '03.

Nate shouting out at Herb the other night was the last straw for some people-me I was already convinced he had to go..

Problem is you're not dumping someone's contract with Nate..Nate has little trade value and may not fetch you anything more than a late #1.(Some feel we'd only get a 2nd rounder which I'd reluctantly accept-I guess)..

There's no need to deal Harrington he's a FA as is Hughes and Milicic. But Lee may help you dump Curry (never happening) or Jefferies. I'd deal Lee to dump Curry but not JJ as I believe he at least has some attributes that could help a playoff team like Washington (his former team) that could forge a trade.

Also I'm not a D'Antoni fan at all!!! Never wanted him!!! The SSOL offense is fun to watch once a month when it's another team but not when it's 4 nights a week and YOUR team. I don't think you can win that way..

I've always been a fan of Walsh's though. What he did in Indiana between 2000 and 2003 was remarkable (if only the NBA mandated psychological testing) rebuilding a true contender nearly overnight. So, I'll at least have faith in him.

the 2 constant thing throughout this demise has been herb. he has lasted through layden, chaney, wilkens, isiah, brown and so on. every other assistant is gone. herb is in my mind a horrible coach. he has no concept of big defense. look at what patrick has done with yao and howard. oakley wants in and i would give it to him yesterday. jeffires is horrible. if they could trade him they should do anything possible. an the only person to run the ssol this year has been douglas. duhon isn't running it. he's walking the ball up the court and just having guys shoot 3's. that isn't the ssol. it's about running, pick and rolls and pops, and driving to the hole and dishing for the open shot. duhon has been a mess and i could make up a new name for the ssol right now the way he runs it.
the kids should play as much as possible. duhon, al and others should just sit. al is the biggest hog in the sport. i have seen gallo open 100 times this year and duhon and harrington ignore him. it's sickening.

Good points all around. Yes, Herb has been a constant during this miserable time. I'm not blaming him for anything per se but when have we ever heard about anything good he's supposedly done with a player? In ALL this time? Never. It's amazing because if not for the occasional interview on MSG you'd forget he was even here.

And yes, Patrick in a much shorter period has gotten a lot of credit for the develoments of both Yao and Howard. The Knick thinking was not to bring him in under D'Antoni because should they struggle (lol) the fans and media would call for Pat to step in (the chants every night for Ewing would be too uncomfortable for any coach). I understand that thinking but why wasn't he hired as a big man coach years before?? Ya know like 4 or 5 head coaches ago...

Duhon doesn't run the SSOL well but it's gotten to the point where we they haven't used the SSOL as much lately (ugh, remember the first few games with Jefferies chucking up 3 pointers? ](*,) ) and still Duhon's been terrible. IMO he's a solid back-up PG nothing more. The idea of him starting and getting even 25 minutes puts you at a huge position disadvantage everynight.

I'm not sure what Douglas will be but you've gotta give him those minutes, and honestly he's looked pretty good. Aside from the scoring I've been much more impressed with his defensive intensity..Kid looks like he LIKES to D up! And other than rookie mistakes and over-aggresive fouls, things that should improve over time, he's a very good defender.

i usually use nbadraft.net mock draft as a reference for whatever player gets picked

with the 38th and 39th pick the knicks took two guys that aren't even listed in the mock draft #-o

BTW, with the knicks pick, utah, took gordon hayward from butler ... looks like a nice player the knicks could have used
