last night nate started the 2nd half of the game and after d'antoni said that "nates the starter and we are gonna dust off toney douglas. chris is playing with no urgency, no energy and we need to make a change."
larry hughes even played.
while i realize that the knicks are not good i am thrilled to be looking forward to games without chris duhon.

If Nate can go 20/7/5 in the next 10 games as PG I'd hope we could get something decent back in a trade..

Most interesting is that D says he's gonna use Douglas as Nate's backup..

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

he let duhon backup last night and if anyone watched the game as soon as al and he came in the 3rd quater there was a fast 15 point turnaround. most of it had to do with al, but lee turned the ball over 4 times. al made 2 stupid fouls causing a 4 point play for delfino and fouled charlie bell 40 feet from the basket causing a 6 point turnaround in less than a minute. he missed layups and didn't pass. it was awful to watch.
nate had no turnovers the entire game and while he didn't shoot well was causing fouls left and right. he made passed to wide open guys who missed shots. as soon as he was taken out the knicks couldn't guard anyone.
i don't think nate is a superstar by any stretch of the imagination, but the team is much better with him on the floor.
they missed a bunch of foul shots early in the 3rd quater and the game changed. gallo was completely off his game, but at least played defense. jeffries was awful on d last night. that has not been the case this year. he is now tradeable and i think the knicks are showcasing hughes.
i hope al, hughes duhon and jeffries are traded as fast as possible.
al is such a hog. at 1 point breen said that al took 15 shots in 18 minutes. he is such a me first player.
after the game on the interviews nate said "the better team won". i have no idea where this sudden maturity came from, but it is refreshing. the knicks have to play douglas and hill more for defense. douglas also shoots the 3 well. duhon couldn't stay with delfino and simply came into this season out of shape. he looks 10 lbs. heavier than last year. he is a waste!
i think instead of the 32 minutes nate got last night if he got 40 we would have won. that also would have been helped if al wasn't such a chucker and awful defender in the 2nd half.
nate and lee were running and diving all over the place. the other guys were in another land.
coach also plays lee all 24 minutes of the 1st half and that has to change because in the 2nd half he gets tired and it shows.
he needs 4 minutes off each half. the team would be so much better if these things took effect.
i do not expect the playoffs, but i would rather watch a team give everything they have and lose rather than this alternative.

I think I'm sold on Lee over Bosh.

Can we keep Lee and sign 2 MAX?

i think what we would have to do is tell lee that we will give him what he wants, but let us sign lebron or whomever 1st. it would have to be an under the table deal and hopefully lee sais ok.

I don't think the Knicks can sign two max even if they jettison everyone over three years of service time.

In terms of a value signing, it might be worthwhile to keep Lee, who is going to get a decent-but-not-max deal. Sort of like Bay relative to Holliday. Bosh is, imho, inarguably the better player, but Lee is pretty good in his own right.

I also tend to think that Nate and Jeffries will be traded. I like them both but this team isn't going anywhere this season with or without them. They had a six game stretch (Minnesota twice, Washington twice, Toronto and Milwaukee) where they should have gone 4-2 and instead they went 2-4. 4-11 overall in their last 15. So it's time to make those moves if possible.

if jeffries is moved they can sign two. i have no idea how to explain it, but a guy that runs a knick site knows all the cap lingo etc. if by some miracle we can trade jeffires then we can sign two.

sorry i forgot, my worry about bosh is that he has bad knees. it wouldn't surprise me to see him become sord of an allen houston eventually. needless to say differnet positions, but bad knees are bad knees.

The Knicks passing up on Brandon Jennings is going to hurt this team for years to come

i wanted ty lawson, people thought i was nuts. i do think that hill will be the defensive force they need though. he has played really well his last few games. he stopped villenueva dead in a game when he had 27 points by the end of the 3rd quarter. we won that game because of him and nate.
the other night against cleveland he was at times guarding lebron and lebron was scoreless against him.
he's gonna be really good. jennings kind of has marbury written on him to me. he's really an obnoxious sounding person. he has tremendous talent though.
think about this.
1. weis over artest
2. trading nene when they were going to draft amare for mcdyess. we also gave away camby in that deal.
3. the curry trade, god.
4. balkman over rondo, boozer etc..
5. frye over bynum and others
the only one that we won was lee.
10 years of mismanagement.
