Lee doesn't know how to box out! Especially late in close games. I don't want to see this defensive liability on this team next year. And Nate is just a bum

The loss tonight was a complete joke. Up by 15 in the fourth against a terrible team and they can't close it out.

Duhon and Harrington are both dead weight. I'd much rather see Hill and Douglas get PT over them.

Lee and Nate have a place on this team, but they can't be feature players. Lee has a great all around offensive game and he hustles, but he is poor defensively. At least Chandler is looking like a legitimate piece.

IMO, the roto should be Robinson / Chandler / Gallo / Lee / Jeffries, with Hill and Douglas getting regular minutes. Landry and Bender should see the floor too. But the rest of them can get gone, ASAP.

the only one that we won was lee.
10 years of mismanagement.

Those are some awful draft day moves. It doesn't even factor in the totally asinine trades and FA signings.

Weis and Balkman ... man. A franchise like the Knicks should not be making mistakes of that level.

Lee get his stats, but that's all he is, just stats. He gets rebounds but never boxes out to help his team get the rebound and prevent the other team from getting easy boards. His defense is also non-existent.
Nate is just plain stupid. He is way too out of control on offense and does nothing to help his teammates out. His defense is also just as terrible as Lee's and he is ridiculously turnover prone, not to mention always committing stupid fouls.
I agree with you that Duhon and Al should both never see significant playing time again. Play the young guys please. I want to see Hill starting. Jeffries has done a nice job, but its time to go with the youth.

The Layden years (not that Zeke was much better) where really bad considering he was brought it specifically as a draft specialist/nerd..

I originally liked the Childs for Jax (even w/Jax having another year on his contract) and the Strickland for Harrington trades. For whatever reason it was not released to the press until later that we had sent a 1st rounder along with each transaction, picks that were supposed to be the benefit of dealing Ewing's expiring contract for hot garbage.

With what could have been 3 1st's that year the Knicks could have had a Tony Parker as well as a Zach Randolph, Gilbert Arenas, Earl Watson (personal fav). Ok 2 of that group are not thought of too highly right about now but we could have had a solid foundation post-Ewing. Otherwise why the hell make the Ewing deal? To watch Glen Rice play PF and look at Luc Longley's ugly mug?

The Camby and #7 for Dice really P'd me off. Vescey had a column in the Post during that season stating there were concerns McDyess's career was in jeopardy and that he was at best about to become an expensive bench player (pretty accurate, huh?). Through all the dreams of dealing for Cris Webber at the time Dice seemed like an excellent consolation prize..if healthy. How we ended up not only sending the pick but also a 25 year old Camby (my favorite Knick at the time, injuries or not) was just assinine when any moron could pick up the New York Post for 25 cents and read about how risky it would be to take on Dice's contract much less deal assets for the right to do so. Amare was the guy I wanted w/the pick (Flip side I also thought Boozer would be a straight out bum in the NBA, lol, win some-lose some) and just wanted to break up the Houston/Spree tandem once and for all and get a legit SF. At the time I blogged (lost in cyberspace) to keep one of Spree/Houston, Camby and the pick while dealing off Spree or Houston, Thomas, Othello or anyone else to rebuild while still contending. This was a huge turning point for the team IMHO. You could see the decade of doom on the horizon after the very very first pre-season game when Dice went down.. :(

Another of the millions of things that upset me draft wise was when Zeke had the notion that Toronto was looking to block Channing Frye from him to force a trade. I wanted Bynum if he fell to us and was happy to hear Isiah resond to the Toronto rumors by stating he liked Bynum as much as Frye and would absolutely not trade up. Well they both fell to him and he selected the very polished but low ceiling Frye opening the door for the Lakers to happily pounce. Now Zeke was not a bad draft evaluator at all and had taken a HS player before (McGrady) but I thought he really rushed his rebuilding project to the point he was not looking 2-3 years down the road but to put another smile on Jim Dolan's ugly mug by making a meaningless playoff appearance.

Too many missed opportunities over what became an irrelevant decade for the Knicks. Relevant only in that it lost/spent a ton of money and proved to be an embarrasment on and off the court. A new decade brings new hope but I've gotta be honest, as much as I anticipated "2010" the past 2 years I'm actually nervous now that we're 4 1/2 months away from free agency.. What the HELL do we do if we cannot bring in Bron/Wade/Bosh?? The rest of the FA's are not FRANCHISE types. They're more Scotties than MJ's. It would be a hell of a dissapointment as we would have to wait another year hoping for a Paul or Melo..

Fingers crossed..

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

There are also rumors Donnie is being very aggresive trying to bring in McGrady. 3 team deal w/Harrington going to Washington could happen..
