Why don't people want Wade?

Because he wouldn't come to NY.

It's Miami or Chicago, that's it.

We already have:

If you sign Bosh and Lebron that's your starting lineup. That's plenty of size:

Lebron- 6'8"
Bosh- 6'10"
Gallinari- 6'10"
Chandler- 6'8"
Douglas- 6'2"

Then you will be around the cap limit. However, Curry will be able to be traded for a longer term deal since he is an expiring. Doing that, we would likely be able to acquire a decent center or PG or even a couple of solid backups.

You also would be able to sign some good role players to the veterans minimum. I'm sure there would be plenty of good role players willing to sign for the vets minimum once Lebron and Bosh were here.

There's also the scenario where Lebron takes less than a max deal so the Knicks can give him the best possible team, knowing he'll more than make up for that money with endorsements.

A lineup of Douglas, Lebron, Gallo, Bosh, and Chandler would work against certain teams. This lineup has enough size to work on the offensive end. But, I do believe they would struggle to protect their own basket. Bosh is a very good rebounder, but he is not really a shot blocker. Lebron James and Bosh actually block about the same number of shots per game over the last 3 years. I question if he can guard bigger forwards in the post for an entire game. I believe he is better than what you currently have in David Lee, but he is not really a shot blocker or an intimidating presence on defense.

On the offensive end, this team would be dynamite. One of the highest scoring teams in the league. You can put anyone next to Lebron and he will make them look good. And if you give him someone who is also very talented, he will make their game even better. Gallo would space the floor very nicely. Toney Douglas could dribble it past half court and then pass it to Lebron. Wilson Chandler could play a slashing role from the PF position. There is no doubt this team would cause matchup problems.

But Lebron has to rest sometimes. And that will be one of the problems for Walsh this offseason. Who comes off the bench?

I never really know what value NBA players have, but do you think Curry will fetch anything worthwhile? Yes he is an expiring, but I think you would have to throw in some picks in order to get something of value. He has no real on-the-court value.

We have 3 2nd round picks so hopefully we can get a rotation player out of at least one of those picks. We could also try to purchase a late 1st round pick.

And Curry will fetch a lot because he will have an 11 million dollar expiring deal. A bad team going nowhere looking to shed money would be willing to trade their decent player making 11 million but for 2-3 years for Curry in a heart beat.

And then there are the veteran minimum deals that we can hand out. Those are around 2 million dollars and for that you will be able to get some decent role players signed.

NO- Okafor (4/53)
PHO- Nash (2/22)
TOR- Calderon (3/30)
UTA- Okur (3/32)

FIRE D'ANTONI !

Firing D'Antoni would be a mistake. Once we have the right players in place (as in, next season) we will be good.

I love what I saw out of T-Mac, House and Sergio. I wouldn't mind seeing them all back on low deals (T-Mac only if he remains injury free and shows the spark he showed tonight). T-Mac actually mentioned in an interview that he might be willing to take less to stay here if the Knicks brought in two max FAs. He said he doesn't need money and that this would be the perfect situation for him.

The Knicks looked good tonight. Sergio was finding open teammates. McGrady made shots and created for others. He looked like a star. He looked like he wanted to be a Knick.

The New York crowd was great tonight. There was a lot of energy flowing through the Garden.

Yeah, was at the game. McGrady looked sick. With House, McGrady and Sergio in they looked like a different team playing a different sport. The ball was moving all over the place and they were running around... not standing outside the 3 point arc tossing it in a semi-circle to the semi-open guy in the corner.

Lots of energy at the game... felt really good to be there. The crowd was weary at first, but after he had 20 points or so after a quarter and a half or so they were all out for him. Even House people loved, and they traded Robinson for him. People didn't like Sergio that much. After a couple mistakes I heard people saying, "put Duhon in."

I loved Sergio in there. He was creating openings, making nice passes to open guys that he probably shouldn't have been able to make. And Van Gundy is right. T-Mac is a really good passer.

I hope McGrady is talking mid-level exception or less, 'cause pairing him with a star would be fun to watch. Also, Sergio looks like a real good fit for the offense. I wonder what he'll fetch.

Obviously, only one game.

Sergio has a 2.8 M qualifying offer I believe for next season.
