Kobe's better than Lebron and Wade. Gasol is now the best big man in the game.

If Bynum is healthy, they still are the best team in the league.

I do not think Kobe is better than Lebron and I don't think that Pau is the best big man. And Bynum has only played more than 65 games once in his career and it was when he was in a reserve role with reduced minutes.

The Lakers are the second best team now. The Heat now have 3 of the top 10-15 players in the league. I would even say that they have 2 of the top 3 players in the game in Lebron and Wade.

Any bums they put around Lebron, Wade, and Bosh will look like gold.

Yes he is. And I hate Kobe.

There is only one ball. LeBron and Wade have similar games, they're both slashers that don't shoot a high percentage. Neither one has a killer jump shot to speak of. They both need the ball in their hands to do the most damage.

Dan Gilbert responds

A Letter From Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

Wow, I can only imagine what tomorrow's PC will be like(The Cavs are holding one at 1P EST)

I understand that LeBron and his group were given the run of Cleveland, now that he's gone they'll badmouth him to no end.

LeBron really pulled an amazingly bad move. If you're going to leave Cleveland, you do it quickly and quietly, not holding a 1 hour reality show on ESPN.

Wow, that letter from Gilbert is a joke. The guy was a free agent and he signed with another team. Maybe if you surrounded him with better players he would not have left. Jeez, based on reading that you would think he killed women and children in Cleveland. LOL, about the Cavs winning a championship before Lebron...keep smoking Gilbert. I could see those types of words from fans but it is pretty embarrassing coming from an NBA owner.

From hearing the specifics of how "The Decision", or "LeBachelor" as Simmons dubbed it, you had Ari Emanuel and Maverick Carter greenlighting this, encouraging LeBron. Emanuel is totally Hollywood and probably knew little about the Cleveland angle. From his perspective, I can understand the oversight. Carter, however, ought to have known better. LeBron was his friend and now he just looks like a typical hanger-on than a guy who keeps his buddy down to Earth. He was completely for it, oblivious to how bad this looked for Cleveland.

I also find it rich that Mark Jackson is defending LeBron's actions, praising him in fact. Jeff van Gundy was on another line on Sports Center and did his best to tell Jackson simply, 'give me a friggin' break, man!'.

Hmm.... does Gilbert have anything up his sleeve that is not just acquiring Jonny Flynn? That is too strongly worded to be merely a 'woe is me'.

Mark Jackson went as far as to say he made his kids watch because LeBron handled this the right way and with class. I could only roll my eyes.

Thank God for JVG, who was the only analyst who made any points that I agreed with.

Of course, he also said the Knicks were a long way from contending, even with the Lee S&T ... 8-[

Heat vs. Cavs on opening night of the season?

Heat vs. Lakers on Christmas?

Seems too obvious, right?

Jason Whitlock sums it up:

Quote:
Dan Gilbert knows where the bodies are buried. LeBron, Maverick, Turtle, Drama and LeBrontourage pissed off the wrong billionaire.

I'm sure Gilbert has seen enough of the 'real' LeBron to carve up this image he's created for himself.

Consider the source, he still has an axe to grind with the Dolans(though I do agree the Knicks are a long way from a legit title contender).

If that letter is real, Gilbert has no class, whatsoever.

And Gilbert happily played into that same image for all the years he's owned the team.
And would have continued to do so forever, as long as LeBron had stayed in Cleveland.

So who's the real phoney?
