Amare Stoudemire is a Knick

Whats next? Can we get Lebron too?

i think its been answered before , but is it possible to sign Amare and Lebron and then resign DLee with the bird clause so we can go over the salary cap?

trade Curry + Gallinari for Tony Parker?

starting lineup

Parker
Chandler
Lebron
DLee
Amare

also Amare's forte is scoring in the paint ... so this move makes no sense unless we add a big time playmaker who can get him the ball ...like Lebron and/or Tony Parker

Amare doesn't do much besides score and rebound... he's not much of shot blocker or overall defender .. and he is not a distributer

This is a very good signing for the Knicks. It shows that they can lure a big fish. A'mare is one of the most talented offensive players in the game and has already thrived in a D'Antoni system.

Yes he has had some major injuries, but he has come back these injuries very well.

I'm pretty happy with this signing. Obviously the preference was Lebron or Wade but it takes two to tango and the Knicks did well to not get locked out of the market if they think that both of those guys don't want to come to New York.

A lot of people compare Amare to David Lee in that they are offensive-minded F/Cs with defensive deficiencies. But Stoudamire is better than Lee on both sides of the ball and in my opinion his superior skillset is worth the difference in value between what he got and what Lee will likely get.

It may be taboo to say, but I think the Knicks are prepared to move on without one of LeBron, Bosh or Wade. On the FA side, they may target F Mike Miller or PG Luke Ridnour, neither of which excite me very much. There's been talk that the Knicks might pursue a S&T with the Wolves for Ricky Rubio, which would be really exciting.

Overall I trust Donnie Walsh.

I think the Knicks should definitely be using Lee as a trading piece and Minnesota would be a good spot to pick up pieces. I just do not see Lee and Amare on the same team. Neither is best fit at Center.

I don't think they can do that. Bird Rights take up some cap room as a placeholder, and the Knicks will need nearly all their cap room to sign Lebron.

There is talk that David Lee could be shipped to the Warriors. A possibility that Anthony Randolph is coming back the other way.

Randolph has a ton of potential and would be a great get for the Knicks.

The Lee sign and trade is now official, since LeBron isn't coming to the Garden.

David Lee has agreed to a six-year, $80 million deal with the Warriors via a sign-and-trade.

The Knicks are likely to receive Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf and Kelenna Azubuike back in return.

Golden State and New York had worked on the framework of a deal during the day on Thursday that was contingent on the decision of LeBron James.
