There are no quick fixes or magic pills. The Knicks have to realize this and start moving in the direction of building through the draft, keeping the cap manageable if a super player does appear and make smart acquisitions that build the team to D'Antoni's system. The LeBron dream was a lot of fun but hopefully the knicks realized that when you wish in one hand and crap in another only one fills up first.

And i think this deal hurts the chances of eventually acquiring or signing Paul.

getting chris paul would have gotten me excited about this team

but with that trade of Collison , it probably kills that dream

we should have used DLee as a chip to get a star point guard when we had the chance

this team is probably better than last year ... but getting back to mediocrity doesn't excite me

You should be excited. Carmelo wants to be here and we have the cap room next offseason to sign him. Not to mention we have loaded up on young talent with upside, added a ton of good to great defenders and gotten rid of the vets that don't care and have negative value to a team (Harrington, Duhon, Hughes) Should be a fun season.

Thomas won’t return to Knicks as consultant

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... cks-thomas

“After speaking with commissioner (David) Stern and Knicks executives, it has become apparent that my new agreement violates certain NBA bylaws,” Thomas said. “Because of this, I have decided to rescind my contract with the team.”

Whoa hold on there. They haven't loaded up on young talent, there is Randolph and maybe Gallinari.

I agree it should be a fun season but there are still a great deal of question marks and fragile pieces that this team could easily be 25-30 wins again.

Quote:
A series of toasts at the wedding reception, initiated by New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul, suggested Anthony leave Denver for the New York Knicks. Paul suggested it playfully, one source said, but subsequent guests -- including Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire and Anthony's brother, Robert -- made the point more forcefully.

Just say no to trading Gallo for Melo (not that the Nuggets would bite)

if he wants to come here, he'll sign next year

they dont have enough. Well unless by some miracle, the Nuggets accept a lesser package because Melo will not want to sign an extension with another team...other than the Knicks

The average age of the team is around 24 years old.

Felton- 26
Gallo - 22
Randolph - 21
Douglas - 24
Amare - 27
Azubuike - 27
Chandler - 23
Walker- 22
Turiaf- 27
Mozgov- 23

I'm not saying they're a great team right now, I'm saying they have young talent with potential and some building blocks for a great team if they can add Melo next year (which is looking likely).

And what do you mean, "maybe Gallinari"? Gallo is a beast already and can get better. Randolph is raw but has amazing physical abilities for his size.
