Soft defensively? He's actually a good defender and he tries to contest shots on help defense.

So now that Melo is going to be a Net can Donnie get down to building a team the right way. They should be looking at a 5-7 year rebuilding plan because of draft pick trades. Keep the cap flexible take it on the chin and draft smartly and acquire as many picks and as much young talent as possible.

i'm sort of glad we are not getting melo ... because it basically shuts the door on the possibility of doing anything else

and i don't think a Melo and Amare led team is leading us to championships.

i want Chris Paul

trading draft picks or young players for Melo would be a mistake

we are not winning this year with just Melo and Amare

might as well wait until he is a free agent

i would try to trade for Chris Paul after the season

Paul, Melo and Amare in 2011-2012 would give me some hope

gotta agree... trading gallo/randolph for him wouldn't be too smart... would be open to trading chandler or douglas/walker... or even just some second round picks and walker or something...

i don't see the point in trading to two very promising, cheap and integral parts of the team in this situation, though.

Last night showed why the Amare signing was so great -

when was the last time the Knicks had a great player who was heavily invested in making the Knicks a great team? It has seemed the Knicks have just been, to too large an extent, a bunch of random players who weren't really that invested in making the Knicks great for a long time now.
