I watched the game last night, or at least 3/4 of it - when Shannon Brown hit a half-court at the buzzer of the 3rd quarter it was too painful to watch anymore. And I'm a Lakers fan. I can tell you this, there was no gloating among the Lakers, no one was about to rub salt in the wounds of ex-Laker Byron Scott or decent veterans like Antawn Jamison who looked like he was in physical pain last night just from the embarrassment. Though they're opponents on the court and the Lakers never backed off for a second, after the game is over they are all fellow NBAers and there was a certain amount of compassion from the Lakers for what the Cavs went through. And that's not because the Lakers are exceedingly classy - it's just natural.
Okay, I get it, LeBron has some problems with Dennis Gilbert. But Dennis Gilbert didn't play the game last night. That was LeBron's ex-teammates on the court. He more than anyone should have kept his mouth shut after the game, and if he did want to say something it should have been I feel for those guys. I've been willing to give LeBron the benefit of the doubt and see nothing wrong with someone his age wanting to get away from his hometown or wanting to form his own team rather than leave it up solely to GMs. But last night's comments really show that all the negative comments he's received have been justified. He simply is a bad guy, and without an ounce of class.
At this point, I don't know if he is classless. I would maybe say stupid. Or clueless. Or really bad at having class. I don't know. I just don't get it.
And he did it on Twitter. Ha. If you are gonna say stuff like that you gotta go all in. Put the pen to pad and come up with some real venom. And if you can't do it, then hire an old Presidential speech writer to do it for you. Shoot off some real classy insults in rapid succession like bam, bam, bam. Wear a duster and a black cowboy hat. Do it all in front of a live TV camera, wink at the end, and then douse a #23 Lebron Cavs jersey in gasoline and light it yourself all while wearing your #6 Heat jersey under your duster.
Like Gotham, America deserves a better class of criminal.
And then after all the theatrics, donate your all your game checks to a Hospital in Cleveland until the Cavs win another game. And maybe even after they win one, throw in another 10 game checks and a visit to the hospital with your new Heat teammates and your old Cav temmates for good measure.

I know it's bizzare, but the one thing I took from his remarks was how incredibly superstitious Americans are. I mean, "God sees everything", really? Wow, scary how many people believe that kind of thing. Really, what's the difference between saying that and saying a witch had put a spell on the Cavs?
