Watching him on TV, I going 'wow'. But for any of the basketball junkies here:

How good/great can he become
Just a dunking machine
How long before he becomes a Laker--lol

Any thoughts

Blake is not just a dunking machine. He has range on his jump shot although it is not consistent enough at this time. He has advanced moves off the bounce. He finishes at the rim at a very high level and it is not only by dunking the ball.

Blake is shooting 67.1% at the rim, 43% <10 feet, 60.7% from 10-15 feet, and 32% from 16-23 feet this season. He is also shooting 61.4% from the free throw line and he has made 7 of his 13 attempted three pointers.

Blake has some very good assist numbers this year but has been a little turnover prone. I like a stat called assist rate. It is the percentage of possessions ending in an assist. Blake has a higher assist rate as a rookie than Dwight Howard or Amare Stoudemire have had in either of their careers. And he has a lower turnover rate than either player have ever had.

Blake is also a great rebounder. Not much to be said here. Great hands, good positioning, freakish hops, and strong like bull.

He plays a lot of minutes on a new knee. But he is the goods...on offense.

There is a cool place called hoopdata.com. It has some good stats for free. Lots of rainy day material in there.

60% for 10-15 feet says it all. The guy is a forces that needs some seasoning but will be a dominant player for years to come.
