i like billups .. but i don't see him as a massive upgrade over felton.

and does he have a longterm future with this club?

i'd let him walk ... and try to sign Tony Parker.

this seems a little premature for me (this is coming from somebody who spent 2000 thinking about a-rod).

Let's just enjoy the season!

He's definitely a huge upgrade. And as far as long term, he's here through next season and Walsh brought up the fact that we could talk extension with him over the summer (unless, of course, we can get Paul or Williams somehow). And Parker already resigned with the Spurs he's not going anywhere. I'd rather have Billups, though. You're one pessimistic Knicks fan!

7-8 since trading for melo

i'm not going to make a big deal about the record

but i am worried about hanging our hopes on a melo and amare led team.

both of them are great scorers .. but they aren't the type of well rounded stars that have won championships over the years

Those well-rounded stars weren't available. I'll take these two. Patience. Teams take time to gel after big trades. We've also played well against the better teams since the trade.

Carmelo said it might not happen (them getting on the same page) this year. Not what Knicks fans want to hear, considering they would have made the playoffs with or without him.

Would you rather have:

Billups
Fields
Melo
Amare
Turiaf

OR

Deron
Fields
Shawne Williams
Amare
Turiaf

I'd rather have the former.

i would rather have gotten deron williams

he would have cost less in a trade (we probably could have kept wilson chandler)

trading away good young players and draft picks for a free agent to be ...

i thought this was something we were all against when Donnie Walsh took over????

I don't think anyone was against trading our overrated assets for a top 10-15 player in the league. If you want to win in this league, you need to acquire superstars (real superstars, not Marbury, Francis and Zach Randolph). We have two now.

We just need to build the roster around our two superstars, get in a training camp together, and preferably get a better head coach in here.
