I can't say I root for the Knicks much...but nothing would make me happier than to compound the Sawx slow start with a Knicks upset here.

I could actually see the Knicks taking this series. I thought the C's took a huge step back with the Perkins for Jeff Green deal.

Anyway, Melo is on fire. Hoop looks as big as a darn ocean to him.

C's offense looks terrible. No ball movement. No players moving. They had a couple offensive 3 second calls where guys were camped out in the paint waiting for a rebound, but the shot never went up. Very few easy, open looks.

Can't ever count the C's out of a game, especially at home. Look forward to the second half.

Two brutal endings to the first 2 games and the Knicks are in a hole down 2-0.

C'mon. Where are the Knick fans? I'm a Net fan and have more posts in the Knick playoff thread.

The Knicks have had some tough luck. D'Antoni has to pick his poison, he can't bench Jeffries because he's by far the best perimeter defender the Knicks have but offensively he's a liability out there.

Amare's got to gut it out and play game 3 if they want to make this a series. If Amare doesn't play, the Knicks might not score 50 points; if I'm the Celts, I'd do what they did the last two mins of game 2: double Carmelo and leave the other guys open. Who can make a shot?

I think the majority of Knick fans here go to higher populated Knick forums to discuss the team.

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

Yeah, and in the bigger picture D'Antoni is likely to get a pass should the team fall here while saddled with injuries.

The Knicks made a lot of progress this year.

Amar'e was a great pickup. He changed the whole outlook of the franchise.

I also think getting Carmelo will serve them well. He has flaws, which have come out, but there are very few players in the world who can do what he does when he's on.

The trade for him was a double-edged sword, though, because it killed their depth.

Donnie Walsh is a savvy guy. If he stays, I think he'll at least acquire some good secondary pieces.

I think the Knicks will now be a destination where veterans will come for lesser pay to fit under the cap and make a run at a ring as a supporting cast for Amar'e and Melo.

Injuries struck at the wrong time. But I think the Knicks will be a force next year now that they'll be able to surround Melo and Amare with the pieces they need. I would probably trade Fields now to fill a need since he doesn't fit in the system anymore now that it's more of an iso-system as opposed to what we ran before the trade. We also should have the MLE and the vets minimum plus a 1st round pick to fill out the roster. I just pray Walsh is the one making these moves.

The best thing that could happen would be D'Antoni going and a real coach being brought in, but I doubt that happens.

The injuries were unfortunate ... but not taking at least one game was a big disappointment.

New Orleans is playing without David West yet Chris Paul is able to elevate his game to the point where he has tied the series 2-2 against a ridiculously talented juggernaut in the Lakers.

Chris Paul 27 points 13 rebounds 15 assists in that last game

he is just so good ... but as much as he makes that team around him better then what they actually are , they are still most likely not going to get it done and they probably won't get past the Lakers

Is there anyway we can get Chris Paul in the off season? That was sort of the Dream scenario was it not? the big three of Amare, Melo and Paul?

In my mind - Paul is the most important piece in that dream scenario and i would have preferred trading our most important chips (gallo, felton, chandler) for him rather then Melo... but putting that aside.. can Fields, Billups and draft picks get it done at this point?
