Tyson Chandler headed back to Dallas. Mavs get Felton, Chandler. Knicks get Jose Calderon, Dalembert, Shane Larkin, Wayne EIllington and a future 2nd round pick

I like it.

Dalembert is only guaranteed $1.8 million this year.

I'm NOT comparing Larkin to Wall... but just how crazy Larkin is as a leaper... Wall 40 inch at the combine. Larkin 44, Larkin 3.08 sprint, Wall 3.14. Sugar Shane baby! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uo3zBwbzImQ

Good trade.
Get rid of useless felton and declining. Chandler for some players you can use and 2nd round picks...I think they are trying to package a second deal ti get back into the 1st round

Beck says they are shopping Larkin and Vaccaro likes the trade

Totally psyched about this. I wanna wait and see what the other moves are before I start getting amped about Larkin, but I think he's a great piece/chip either on the roster or to wheel and deal. All of the pieces we got back are more movable than both of the piece the Knicks gave up, and they got draft picks and Larkin.

One thing I keep thinking is that when people calculate the Knicks salary cap situation, they must not be taking Carmelo's $23M off the books as of July 1st. But, by my figuring - granted I'm no cap guru - the Knicks were like $30M over the salary cap ($92M payroll, $63Mish cap for this year) and getting rid of Carmelo/Chandler/Felton (Total $42M) and getting back Larkin/Calderon/Ellington ($13.5M which incl. $1.8M for cutting Dalembert) puts them right at the cap or even under it if they make another small $3-$5M move.

This site: http://www.spotrac.com/cap-tracker/nba/2014/

has them at $66M and only $3M above the $63M cap now without cutting Dalembert.

If that's true the Knicks are one or two creative moves from having cap space for a free agent, plus an under the cap exception, plus multiple draft picks including a first rounder.

I'm hoping for a guy who can help right away at 34 (really like O'Bryant in that spot) and a euro stash at 51. Beck thinks we may deal Larkin to land a #1... if that's the case I'm guessing it would be Larkin and 34 to get Ennis, hopefully not, not sold on Ennis being a difference maker, especially in the triangle.

I think Larkin could possibly be used to get someone to take on a year of STAT or Bargnani without getting full payroll value back. If you're willing to wait for Larkin to develop, you're also probably willing to wait for a year to realize a chunk of your cap space, especially if you're not in the Lebron/Melo derby and you'd rather be players in next year's deeper field free agent wise.

It's also interesting to note that Larkin and PJ Hairston were teammates last year in the D-League.

So much more flexibility now. 24 hours ago everyone was saying we couldn't do anything. But we could, did, and now the possibilities seem endless. Good on Uncle Phil! 8)

I'd be willing to trade every asset we have outside of Tim Hardaway Jr. for Elfrid Payton.

Spencer Dinwiddie and a Mitch McGary should be targets.

McGary reportedly has 2 promises. 24 and 31 so he won't be there (if accurate)
