Laettner might come back to play for them as well.

If Laettner comes back and plays for them wouldn't the team's worth drop?

Laettner was a great college player who turned into a wuss in the pros. Atleast he can always boast that he was on the 92 Dream Team with MJ and Magic.

Lets look know in hindsight. Isiah Thomas wasn't on the Dream Team of 1992, but Christian Laettner was?!? :?

The fact that Memphis is still in the Western Conference boggles the mind.

Or the fact that they are called the Grizzlies... Shouldn't they be known as the fighting Elvises?
Then again Utah the place with the least amount of soul in the US has the Jazz...

Well, not that I'm defending the names, but both are franchises that started elsewhere. The Jazz were from New Orleans and obviously the Grizzlies were from Vancouver (which both names made sense at the time, imo).

Yeah I know... The NBA use to change names but for some reason do not anymore...

Funny thing is, the Memphis team in the old World Football League also had the Grizzlies as a 'secondary' name. Their official name was the Southmen, which is kind of meaningless. As a result, they were aka the Grizzlies and had a logo that depicted bear claws.

It was the team that signed Larry Csonka, Jim Kiick and Paul Warfield away from the Dolphins.

Led to an infamous SI cover, btw. The trio posed in their new uniforms and either Csonka or Kiick (can't remember which) had his hand positioned on his helmet so that he was clearly giving the finger to the camera in the picture. No one noticed until after the magazine came out.
