...are weak in the defensive zone. I think David Hale will have a breakout year, but that only gives us four good ones: White, Martin, Ralfalski. We need at least three more. Who will they be?

From what I have seen and heard off Johnny Oduya so far, I am anxious to see how he develops.

Corrente has the raw talent but he should be fun to watch in a couple of years as well.

Well, Brad Lukowich will make the team.

Apparently Corrente really held his own last night and as beltron said, Oduya has been pretty impressive. He had 3 assists in the first preseason game and played well on the point on the PP on a unit with Langenbrunner, Elias, Gomez, and Tallackson, I believe.

Scott Lachance is in camp looking to return to the NHL. Nothing thrilling there.

Andy Greene is another kid they are high on, out of Miami of Ohio.

I'd say it will be White, Rafalski, Martin, Lukowich, Hale, Oduya, and maybe Lachance. I think Corrente and Greene will start in the AHL, but both should be here sooner than later.

Looks better than I thought.

Still the division favorites in my mind.

It looks like there's a good chance that the NHL will allow the Devils to put Mogilny on the long-term IR, which would take his money off the cap and help get Gionta and others under contract. They still probably will have to make a trade to clear space with Martin and Hale also needing contracts. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Malahkov. Apparently even if he retired, his money (3.6 million this year) still counts against the cap.

Division in my eyes will be Rangers vs. Devils, as mentioned before. The key will be whether or not Lundqvist will have a sophomore slump IMO.
