I agree that adding Gomez and Drury guys was awesome but neither one of them will put up more points then Briere. especially when he'll be flanked with Gags and Knuble.

Already our Defense is better then the Rangers by adding Jason Smith and Kimo Timmonen (two former captains)... Gauthier is back, Hatcher is adjusting to the new game Kukkonen and Coburn are future studs..

The Rangers have Girardi(sp?), Mara, Rozival, Malik, Stall? Kaspar? did I miss anyone?

Goaltending advantage for suregoes to the Rangers.... BUT.. Im hearing Esche may sign with you guys as a back-up.

you may outscore us and other teams but dude you're Defense is getting mocked all over the land of hockey talk.

I believe the Rangers had the lowest goals against avg last year.

No, we had around the 9th I believe. Still, the defense is actually not that bad. Girardi is an up and coming stud, Rozsival is great and Mara is solid.

Also, ESPN's Rangers preview (note the expected finish in the side bar... 8) ).

I meant o write one of the... Bashing on the Rangers "D" is overrated. They are not the best but certainly not the worst.

The Rangers D is underrated, but the signing of Gomez and Drury is WAY overrated. I don't really see them being better then last year when they played quite a bit over their heads. They are a playoff team, but by no means are teh a lock to win their division, never mind Lord Stanley.

I think you're thinking of two years ago. For a good deal of the season they played below their level last year...

It's go-time, people.

Although, now that I have moved away from Pittsburgh, it's going to be tough for me to follow my Pens so closely.

(Penguins vs. Rangers should be fun this year.)

I still like the Devils in the Atlantic.

Looks like a very different team under Sutter- much more forechecking.

Should be a GREAT year. Can't wait to catch a game at the Rock!

Enjoy being behind the Rangers in the standings, you might as well get used to it... 8)

I've been hearing that for years. What makes you think this year will be different?

Who's going to save your season? Niedermayer? Stevens? Rafalski? Gomez...?

The Devils have gotten progressively worse over the last two seasons while the rest of the division (minus the Icelanders) has improved (particularly the Rangers and Penguins and, last season's debacle not included, the Flyers this year). And what have they done to replace the important talent that's gone on to greener pastures? Nothing. That's why I think this year will be different. Can Marty alone get them to a playoff spot? Sure, probably. But are they a Cup contender anymore? Not at all.

Also, who are you talking about. The Devils or the Braves?
