(Not a Rangers fan but) I was at the Rangers-Caps game tonight and they looked absolutely awful. It's the first Rangers game I've seen all the way through this season, but from the looks of it, I don't know how they've managed to play as well as they have been.

Yes, I know this isn't a microcosm of how good they are. But it was astonishing to me that this group of guys could play so poorly.

Lucky to get a point!

The Devils were awful in Washington on Monday as well.

Is there something in the water down there?

Another game, another loss. Nothing seems to be going right for this team. They can't score goals, defense has been dreadful, Lundqvist has not been sharp, special teams are giving this team nothing. It also doesn't help that they've been playing poorly against teams who are clearly better. This team has been prone to having awful Decembers, and here's yet another one. 2008 can't come soon enough...

inaccurate. 2 of the 3 goals went off staal. i dvred the game and stayed up way too late to watch it. he actually stopped some really tough shots. he was VERY sharp last night.

on a different note, avery is the best. such talent and enough energy for three teams. he really didnt approve of the hit (albeit clean) on jagr. i expected him to take on either neil or donovan (or both)

How am I inaccurate? I wasn't speaking specifically about the loss to Ottawa, I'm talking about the 8 games they've lost out of their last 10. So he was sharp on Sunday, and I don't even blame him for the 10 goals he gave up against Minnesota and Colorado because he got little help in each of those games. But he's also given up some softies here and there and hasn't really played up to the high standard he set the first two months of the season. Don't get me wrong though, I love Lundqvist and he's really just a small part of the problem. Everyone needs to start playing better.

New York Rangers interested in Vyborny

David Vyborny could be traded to the New York Rangers.
The Rangers had three scouts attend a recent Columbus game and an NHL source said that Vyborny's name has come up in trade talks. Jaromir Jagr might benefit from playing alongside his former Czech Republic national teammate. Jagr has had a hard time developing chemistry with his Rangers linemates. Columbus is believed to be interested in Petr Prucha as a part of a package deal. They might also be interested in Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Callahan and Nigel Dawes Dec. 27 - 8:55 am et

Beautiful comeback tonight. Wins on back-to-back nights for the first time all season.

6-1 is always nice and comeback victories really help

Roberto Luongo has now allowed just 17 goals in his last 14 games.

Not that Rangers have been playing well otherwise...
