Well I'll refrain from complaining about the ridiculous interference call which essentially sealed this game. For a team that strives to play a defensive style of hockey, they are far from sound in that area. Same old story: costly turnovers, bad penalties, too much sloppy play in their own end. I have a hard time faulting Lundy on this one. 5 goals is way too much, but he's clearly not getting enough help. The one saving grace from this game: Marc Andre Fleury.

So, I left my apartment tonight around 8:15. The Mets were up 3-1 and the Penguins were down 3-0. I should stop leaving my apartment.

I thought you were a Penguin fan?
Oh, I am. I'm just saying, everything I thought I knew when I left the apartment turned out to be wrong.

Okay, time for the Rangers to step it up.
And for Henrik to look less Brodeur-Like... (yes, i went there)
This game will tell us a lot about the Blueshirts. If they get out of Pittsburgh with a split I'll feel very confidant coming back to the Garden where the Pens have had a lot of trouble this season.

It's rigged -- but yet the Rangers have gotten two Power Plays here in the last 5 minutes of a 1-0 game.
This series is certainly not rigged against the Rangers -- regardless of the "Crosby factor", the league would much rather have a NY/DET Stanley Cup Finals.

Rangers need to play much better offense and take both games at the Garden. They also need to show a little life. They were so flat and uninspired today that it reminded my of some of their early-mid season clunkers both this year and last. I still don't understand why Renney (who I still don't think is a great choice as coach, though I do think he'd be a great GM for some team) has them play so conservatively with the big guns they have...
But that call, by the Ref, right behind the net and watching the puck going in and stopping play for no reason right before it crossed the line was the most ridiculous, stupid, curious game changing call I have ever seen.
Of course it doesn't matter if they weren't shut out anyway, but that one is going to bother me for a long time.
I also think that the league is making a big mistake in trying to make Crosby instead of either Malkin or Ovechkin their cover boy. As talented as he is he whines and dives *a lot* and just isn't very, well, likeable at all.
