I'm sure nobody is watching, but...

This Game 6 OT is one of the best periods of hockey I have ever seen.

Stars led this series 3-0, it's now 3-2 going to Double-OT in Game 6...

Game 7 would be in San Jose.

Dallas wins in the 4th OT! the Captain Brandon Morrow finishes them off on hte power play. probably feels like a NLCS game 6 86 type win for the stars team who didn't want to play a game 7 on the road.

Terrific hockey game.

Brenden Morrow had 19 hits! Talk about playing your heart out...he must have been EXHAUSTED...

I always hate to see those long OT games end on a power play but I guess it has to happen sometimes...

Wings/Stars
Pens/Flyers

Two pretty good matchups...

What time did that finish, I think I was up until 2:25 when it finally ended. I just went to sleep after, didn't bother to look at the clock.

I'm feeling it today. Need to take a nap when I get home if I expect to watch the Mets tonight at 10.

I only stayed up til the end of the 2nd OT, but that first OT was incredible. That Nabakov save on Richards was probably the best save I've seen all postseason. I remember Dallas having a game like this in last year's playoffs against Vancouver. That game too went into 3 or 4 OTs and Turco eventually got the best of Luongo. You want to talk about underrated players, it's hard to argue that Marty Turco is not a top 5 goalie in this league and is easily the best of the remaining 4. What a season they're putting together - potentially beating the 3 best teams in the West to get to the Cup finals. I'm officially on the Stars bandwagon.

I think the game you're thinking of was actually won by Vancouver last year (they recapped it last night - Henrik Sedin scored the winner), but yeah, Turco is a very underrated netminder. He had a couple of terrific seasons before the lockout that put him on the map, but he hadn't quite been as consistent since. He still has been solid though, and has really stepped up here in the playoffs to the tune of a 1.73 GAA and .929 SV%.

I'll definitely be rooting for a Stars as well. They are a really solid hockey team but they might have trouble with the Wings firepower, especially if Johan Franzen decides to score 9 goals in 4 games again. Detroit is going to be much fresher too. Should be a good series.

I remember watching a Devils Stanley Cup TV special with many players recollecting how bad the ice conditions in Dallas during the Game 6 Double Overtime clinching game was for the players. They were essentially playing on slush. That was two overtimes, I cannot imagine 4. Granted, the Stars probably know how to prepare better for these situations in 2008 rather than 2000 (If I remember correctly they played a game at home against Anaheim as long as this one) but this was an unofficial double-header in hockey.
