I could go off on attendance from the home opener but it was the Islanders who's presence is not as ornery as Rangers fans at The Rock and we won so I am happy.

Parise got the winner tonight to make it #540 for Marty (That new facemask is ridiculous btw) against Pittsburgh. Marty will have more rests this year or it will likely be Sutter's head.

Reunions for Holik and Ralston, Salvador while good is extremely overpaid, same with Zubrus, Zajac hopefully has shaken off that terrible sophomore slump, and I am intrigued on what Salmela can bring.

MSG on Monday

I am not sure if Rangers fans can call Marty "FATSO" since he has dropped a lot of weight this off-season but hey they still say "Potvin Sucks!"

True, but we can still point out that he cheated on his then-wife... with his sister-in-law.

Anyway, I'll be there Monday, looking forward to it, good luck on the season.

Pittsburgh was flat as can be and the Devils completely dominated that hockey game last night. It's amazing that they would have lost that game had it not been for the fluke goal off Hal Gill. Fleury was phenomenal, he probably deserved better, but that's hockey. Parise took a great shot to win it in OT off the far post.

The Devils definitely have looked better offensively this season than they did last year, but the bottom line is they still have won 2 games by 2-1 scores. I'll definitely take it though.

Should be interesting game on Monday night with both teams yet to lose.

Same crap, different year with the Mets
Same crap, different year with the Devils

Four goals in three games (well five, but one was an accident) and no heart against the Rangers.

The Devils really stole one tonight in Washington. Parise just finds ways to put the puck in the net.

But basically they can thank #30.

Rare laugher for the Devils tonight against Dallas, 5-0.

Win #543, shutout #98 for Marty...

Elias tied the NHL record for career OT goals against the Flyers on Thursday, then rather than finish himself on the PP last night to set the record, he gave it up to Parise, who had a wide open net. Big win for the Devils in Montreal.

They've now won 7 of 8.

The Devils are good. The Rangers' defensive coverage, not so much.

Long time coming for the Devils.

They're really playing great right now. Clemmensen has held the fort down nicely (though probably shouldn't have given up 5 tonight but it was one of those crazy games). His rebound control isn't good at all, but he's managed to keep the puck out of the net.

I can't remember the last time the Devils had 2 scoring lines producing like they have over the past month or so. Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner and Elias-Zubrus-Gionta have been great. The role players have done a nice job too. The defense has been really solid - even a guy like Jay Leach is playing well.

First time since late in the 1992-1993 season that the Devils beat the Rangers and the winning goaltender was not named Martin Brodeur.

Only Malkin, Crosby, and Ovechkin have more points than Zach Parise this season.

Elias is playing his best hockey in years right now as well and is also in the top 10 in scoring.

Good win but our power play was beyond disappointing. I mean seriously, no shots on goal with a man advantage?

After inexplicably setting the franchise record for longest goal drought, the Devils break out for 4 against the Rangers and get back in the W column.

The team is very good. All four lines are solid, the defense is solid, and the goaltending (Clemmer) is solid.
