They let one cheap shot artist walk in Orr and get a Bigger cheap shot artist back in Brashear, only this thug has even less talent. Having one dirt bag in Avery, just isn't enough for the worst GM in the NHL...Way to go Sather.

It's clear Sather wants to keep an enforcer on the roster. I will certainly agree that Brashear is by far a bigger cheap artist, but you can't say he has less talent. I've seen Brashear put some quality shifts together and he has had a couple of 25+ point seasons.

Needless to say, he'll send at least one Flyer/Devil/Penguin to the hospital this coming season.

Also, it will be interesting to see how the fans at the Garden treat him now that he's a Blueshirt.

Pittsburgh picked up another enforcer to go along with Gorard in Mike Rupp. Should be fun.

Sad story, but does not change or excuse what he does on the ice.

fair enough, but does offer perspective, for what it's worth.

I think somebody should put a camera in Rangers practice. A possible breakout between Donnie and Avery would be too good for words.

I really wouldn't call either cheap shot artists. Goons? OK, enforcers yes.
Brashear had some skills when he was younger.

Brashear is certainly an enforcer, he used to have decent skills but those days have passed him by. He has in the last 2-3 years been involved in several incidents that are nothing short of being cheap shots, not something he was known for, but of late he has become a cheap-shot artist.

Avery is nothing short of a cheap shot artist and dirty pest. That is sad because the guy does have good skills. If he just played hard and did not take liberties with the rules, he would be a much better player for it. Too bad he has proven that is not that type of player and is by all accounts of his peers, the biggest cheap-shot artist in the game today.

Uhh no way is Avery the biggest cheap shot artist. That distinction belongs to Ruutu.
