3 very balanced lines.

Parise is a great player.

Zajac is a great player.

Clarkson has taken his game up a level.

Bergfors looks pretty good.

Niedermayer has played very well.

The defense has looked good, with Salvador looking very sharp in particular.

I am though very concerned about the injury to Paul Martin (may have broken arm). That would be a tough one to swallow.

Parise is the guy I'd take on my team any day.

And this could be Zajac's breakout season. 75-80 points is likely.

Back-to-back wins against the red hot Rangers and Penguins is nice for them.

The Atlantic Division is the best division in the NHL, though I still think the Rangers will be fighting for a final playoff start come April.

I know I mention this a lot, but Lou Lamoriello's genius as a GM never ceases to amaze me.
Some alleged experts were saying he hadn't adequately replaced some players. But he always does.

The NHL isn't exactly like other leagues, but the Devils are a team with some budget limitations and Lou keeps them in contention year in and year out.

Two more points tonight in Buffalo.

Marty ties the all-time shutout mark.

Bringing back Jacques Lemaire as coach was a master stroke.

I don't think there's a team with better depth in the league...

Last night they rolled 4 lines and completely dominated the Sabres in their own building.

Also, they've been doing all of this without their best defensemen, Paul Martin, who has missed the past 19 games with a fractured forearm.

I wish someone would beat the Devils already!

Looking like the Devils, Caps and Pens are the cream of the crop in the Eastern Conference this season so far. That's kind of what I thought last season, too despite Boston's record.

P.S. Don't underestimate the Penguins depth which has carried them this season as they've struggled with injuries. And Mike Rupp! The guy is second on the team in goals

Career shutout #104. Easy victory over the defending champs, 4-0.

Best record in the league, all without their best defensemen. Crazy.

Marty looking good, congrats to him.

Still IMO, this is a team built to be regular season winners and still might come up short in the playoffs. Basically still the same group that was eliminated by the Hurricanes last season.

but hey, when you're playing this good anything is possible.

I don't know about that. They've added some grinders with Cup experience (Rob Niedermayer, Dean McAmmond) who have played great for the Devils thus far. The continued maturation of their young players cannot be discounted either (and there are a lot of young players on this team.)
