wow, they're already playing for next year? 2-0 is a bit early for that, but Hedberg played excellently, IMO... so they must be getting the kid ready for next year. Strange.

Lehtonen has been their starter their whole year. The panic move was playing Hedberg in the first place.

Avery wasnt one of the 'three stars' and two Thrashers were along with Lundqvist. What a joke of an organization...

The attending media determine the 3 stars of the game...it has nothing to do with either organization that is playing.

Not the attending media, but the local attending media determine the 3 stars. And in all fairness, I think they realized that the fans might have rioted if Avery was given the first star like he should have been...

C'mon...nobody pays any attention to the 3 stars of the game, nevermind reacts in such a way.

its pretty clear to anyone who was watching that Avery was the best player on the ice, not to mention a G and a A when the score is 2-1. Its just one small injustice amongst thousands that gets overlooked.

Play the hot hand; or get the kid, who's been off for a while, some playoff experience for next year. Its the playoffs, there's no room for grey areas.

Once they've played Hedberg and he played well they have to stick with him.

Be careful. This series could just as easily be 2-2 as it could be a NYR sweep.

Hedberg had a sub-.900 save % in the regular season (21 games, 16 starts). Lehtonen is a pretty good goaltender, I'm surprised they even played Hedberg to begin with...

:( wahhhhh!! :(

The 3 stars is for the fans and for most of the game Avery was on his back or in a refs ear. The first "goal" was a complete fluke. The pass I will give him was a nifty play but I guarantee if Kovalchuk scores 2 and fights with Rangers he won't get in the stars at the Garden

I'm not saying it gives the Rangers the series, but it gives the Thrashers less of a chance when they play the goalie who has been struggling over the one who just had a strong outing.

Going back to Lehtonen has to be the worst coaching decision by any coach in any sport this year. Granted, Atlanta is playing zero defense, but still.

3-0 Blueshirts in the first.
