Hollweg and Rachunek will both be back in the lineup tomorrow night. With Holly, you hope he avoids taking bad penalties but he definitely supplies a better forecheck than Orr. With Karel, hopefully we're getting the Rachunek who was steady right before his injury and not the one who's prone to neutral zone turnovers and deflecting pucks past Henke. Karel's also much more physical than Pock. I think I heard that Gaustad won't be playing in this series at all, so I expect the Rangers to have the physical edge in this series. Overall, I like their chances a lot.

Until Sean Avery has a Conn Smythe trophy on his mantle, he's nothing more than a Darcy Tucker wannabe.

Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

Buffalo is going to make the Rangers think the Thrashers were playing in slow-motion last round.

I think that's a little harsh...

Especially considering that he's never been in the playoffs before...

You talk as if I haven't seen the Sabres play at all this year. Yes, I know what a talented team they are. They are all fast, they are all athletic and they can finish. I also know that they played the Rangers at their best this season, when they were all healthy to boot. Three of those games went into overtime, only one of which Henrik played in. That Ranger team was not as good as the one now. I'm not convinced that this Sabre team is any better than the one we faced 5 months ago. So I stand by what I said, thanks.

Wow, what a game. Toronto's obviously rooting for Buffalo, but too bad. Rangers win it 2OT.

Wow, great game and huge win for the Rangers. I was somewhat surprised they won as they just got hosed by the officials all game long and was expecting it to end in demoralizing fashion.

I was definitely rooting for them to pull it out because they deserved to win and I am so sick and tired of the Sabres getting every controversial call go their way.

Three players really stood out in this game, IMO.
Shanahan - what a player
Girardi - unbelievable job he's done since the call-up - 7 hits, 4 blocked shots today
Callahan - give up your body player, tremendous effort - 6 hits, 3 blocked shots

As an impartial observer, thank you sluger for telling it like it is. That no goal was completely bogus, and I knew it would come back to haunt them. I thought for sure Buffalo would find a way to win it, but thank god they didn't. The Sabres are a great team, no doubt, but everything has gone their way and it's getting ridiculous. As long as they get call after call, goal review after goal review, we might as well hand them the Cup already.

That being said, I'm so proud of the way the Rangers hung in there and not let the miscalls get to them. I'll give you three more guys who deserve some credit. Henrik was phenomenal once again. 8 straight wins at MSG, only 7 goals allowed in that period. Jagr was the best player on the ice today IMO. He's got a fire right now that was absent in the first half of the season, and it's good to see. And then there's Blair Betts, who shows again why he's our best faceoff man, our best PK'er and one of the smartest guys on the team. The guy doesn't do anything flashy but he provides a calming influence for his teammates, ala Dan Girardi. Tonight was a great win, the team showed a lot of heart and now onto Tuesday.
