This has probably been mentioned before, but does anyone else think Wheeler's motion is kind of like "Lincecum Lite"?

He's got the glove drop, but other than that, I don't see it. If you want to see Lincecum Lite though, Trevor Bauer is pretty spot on with that.

Maybe I'm off then, but I thought the way he turned his back to the hitter and kind of arcs himself and peers over his shoulder as he strides reminded me of Lincecum. Not as pronounced, and the strike isn't near the length of Lincecum's, hence the "Lite" moniker.

Meh, maybe not.

Just noticed a very cruel blow on ESPN New York's Mets page

I went there to read Adam's postgame report and what do I see on the side right, toward the bottom?

A list of individual stat category leaders. The list is based on 2011 stats and there's a head shot of the batting leader and then a text list of other category leaders like HR, RBI, etc.

Of course, Jose Reyes was the team batting leader.

The cruel blow?

He's wearing a Marlins hat in the head shot.

Edit: I just went back and now the pic is 2011 Wins leader, Dillon Gee

At least the Jose pic is on a rotation

Carson returns to mound today.

Rubin also confirms that Lutz has been pulled from game activity for the time being.

It's not unusual for guys to have dips in velocity, especially early in ST.

If he's still throwing 88 in May.... yeah. That's a problem.

If that was Harvey yesterday, I betcha Joel Sherman would've featured it in his "3 Down" today (does he still do 3 up/3 down?).

I'm a bit concerned about Francisco since Lewin mentioned it as if it's something the Mets have noticed... but he also didn't throw many (if any) splits so he may just go at his own pace in ST.

Speaking of velocity, what do we want to see today from Santana? I think he needs to be sitting around 85 or so for me to be feeling good about the outing.

Harvey looked exactly like you would want a not-ready but talented to pitcher to look. Flashed a FB 91-95 (one pitch at 95) and threw a few very nice curveballs. Then he looked tired and was mostly at 91-92. He threw some weird straight pitch at 87-89 a few times (I'm guessing it's the new 2 seamer). He threw 1 changeup that I noticed at 84. Didn't see one slider. Pretty free and easy delivery. You can see what they mean by he gets too much of the plate at the moment. Stuff-wise sort of reminded me of Izzy when Izzy first came up.

He's gotta be sitting 85-86 for me to have much hope but even then what does it mean? He's gotta not only be 85-86 (with more velocity coming) but be able to do that for 5-6 innings every 5th day. His velocity for 1 inning will be "nice" to judge but doesn't mean a ton either way. If he's throwing 82-83 it's time to be scared.

Even Law picked up on the low Pineda velocity:

@Ken_Rosenthal I would say that's pretty light, even for a pitcher's first outing.
