Hate to be a broken record, but I dread the idea of this team spending the entire year trying to grind out wins.
Whatever the number I'm rooting for the under.
I understand that, but I don't see it. There's nobody on this team who wants to quit. This isn't a team of Bobby Bo's and Mo Vaughn's and not good any more Roberto Alimar's. This is a team of players, many of them young, who want to prove themselves, and I think the coach is more than happy to grind out as many wins as he can.
I personally have very little faith in Mike Pelfrey, but I think the other 4 starters will give it their all.
I question the wisdom of the Rauch and Francisco signings, but the Bullpen could hold it's own.
and players like Murphy, Ike, Duda, Thole & Tejada - these guys won't quit the way a vet with a guaranteed contact might. I think, an injury or two might hurt, but if healthy, I think this team will grind out a lot of ("useless") wins.
You can root for under, but my instinct is telling me they could go over. - but I'll take either one. I won't be mad if they win 65, but I won't be mad or shocked if they win 80.
