Trouble getting loose? The late-career Pedro Martinez effect?

Toby has a thing up right now with quotes on Valdespin and MDD, Valdespin from Teufel and MDD from Hudgens and it didn't sound like either coach thought either player was at all MLB ready.

I like that D-Wright's return -- where he has a hit and a great play in the field -- is already muddied because Santana threw some pitches less than 88 mph.

Mets are going to lead the league in CS this season.

Look at the bright side... they probably won't during the season... they don't have team speed to run in the first place lol
So far as I can tell, it looks like the plan is going to be, "run because we don't have many power bats and have to 'get something going'."

We actually SHOULD have decent power 1-6. 7-8 MAY combine for 5 all year, but Torres hit 16 in cavernous AT&T, Murphy probably has 12-15 HR power in a full year of ABs, then Wright, Duda, Davis COULD be 25+ each and who knows on Bay.

Wright and Torres are the only 2 with any chance of stealing 20+. Ike, Duda, Tejada, Thole probably don't steal 20 bases combined, Bay maybe 10-15? Murphy 7-8?

The offense is going to get by with sneaky good OBP and a good distribution of pop 1-6.
This will be a station-to-station team, though, with Torres, Wright and Jason Bay (lulz) really the only SB threats. And TC already decried the hit and run usage, probably because we're slow as hell and have at least 3 guys who will push and likely exceed 150Ks.
