It would be funnier if Chin-Lung was an OF because then I could say:

Hu is Karim Garcia.

Spoke with guy on AAA roster who faced Zack Wheeler in intrasquad game Tuesday. Said curveball and fastball were unreal. Top prospect by far

Hu signed with the Phils.

Wait.

What?

Phillies signed Thurston and Hu in one day. Freddy Galvis got hurt yesterday so I believe if the season started today, Pete Orr would be their starting 2B.

This would be funny if it would have absolutely any effect on their chances to win this year, which it won't. They'll just be far less entertaining to watch as they plod thru 2-0 games early on.

AdamRubinESPN Lucas Duda will be No. 6 hitter for opening series vs. #Braves. Unlikely he'll stay there for #Nats series. More: es.pn/GW5AI2 #mets 4 minutes ago · reply · retweet · favorite

In that article:

Quote:
Terry Collins plans to have Lucas Duda bat sixth in the opening series against the Atlanta Braves, to avoid stacking lefty hitters Ike Davis and Duda consecutively. After all, Collins does not want to make it easy for Braves counterpart Fredi Gonzalez to summon stellar southpaw relievers Jonny Venters and Eric O'Flaherty without having Jason Bay split the two lefty hitters.

Ok...

Quote:
The projected Opening Day lineup, assuming Andres Torres is ready:

Andres Torres, cf
Daniel Murphy, 2b
David Wright, 3b
Ike Davis, 1b
Jason Bay, lf
Lucas Duda, rf
Josh Thole, c
Ruben Tejada, ss
Johan Santana, lhp

So then why are you stacking Duda and Thole?

If that was such a concern so that you would bat the clearly superior Duda behind Bay, why wouldn't you do the same with Tejada and Thole?

Jeff Francis has decided not to exercise his opt-out clause w/ #Reds. He's told club he'd be willing to go to Triple-A and start.

Oh well.

Adam said they will stack Duda and Thole because TC has no problem pinch hitting for Thole but wouldn't pinch hit for Duda.

So which wonderful bench bat does he send up for Thole?

The downside is that pinch-hitting for Thole automatically results in burning 2 bench players since Nickeas isn't going to be the guy TC sends up to hit.

really nice to see Sean Ratliff back out there and in game...

Rubin notes in todays dose of Around the Minors that Ratliff went 2-3 in a game with Buffalo.

I figured if he got off to a good start in ST hed start off in Bing. But hey with these spring training minor league groups who the heck knows
