I have mlb.tv and milb.tv. What do you think the percentage of games is that I would rather be watching the AAA club over the Metsies?

Andy McCullough @McCulloughSL Reply Retweet Favorite · Open Brandon Nimmo is expected to begin the year in extended spring, then go to Brooklyn. Michael Fulmer will start in Savannah. Carry on.
So not even joining Savannah at some point, at least in the current iteration of the plan.

I'm a little disappointed, because I was looking forward to see what Nimmo could do right out of the gate. But I don't think there's a lot of evaluation going on with him. You have a pretty good idea of what you've got. He needs seasoning, but his place in the Big Picture is pretty clear.
You can't say the same thing about guys like Taijeron and Thurber and Pugh and Lawley and Pron.
If these guys can't play, you'd like to find that out quickly.

Guys get hurt (especially in this organization). It will be interesting to see if he's one of the first bats summoned to Savannah or if they want to keep him out of the Sally League at all costs.
Also, the Mets sometimes let some of the future Cyclones play at Savannah for a couple weeks before the NYPL season begins to get some real game action under their belts. That could be something to watch too.

Let's hope Nimmo hits well enough in BK that he can skip Savannah next year. It would put him on the same path as playing in Savannah this year.
True.
Is there precedent for guys doing this though - especially with this regime, pending Muno's assignment (which has been rumored to be Savannah)? Vaughn and Ceciliani tore up the NYPL and went to Savannah, Muno is APPARENTLY doing the same. These guys aren't "Brandon Nimmo", of course, but I'm skeptical they would skip him.

Don't think we have enough of a sample size/similar situation to compare to Nimmo with this front office. I wouldn't be surprised if their thought process was 100% "If he hits in BK he can skip Savannah". I mean only in the last few days have they said he wouldn't be in Savannah so he was apparently at least somewhat "close" to going to Savannah or I think Toby, Adam etc would have hinted at this sooner. I mean Fulmer is essentially skipping GCL/BK/Kingsport so I'm not sure they have set in stone "rules". I think if Nimmo hits he'll probably finish the year in Savannah and probably open in St. Lucie (which like I said would be where he would open up 2013 even if he did play in Savannah this year). If he doesn't hit in BK then he obviously won't be pushed.
As for Muno... who knows what has gone into this thought process? Other players likely impact Muno's placement (Tovar, Evans etc) while I think Nimmo supersedes every other player.
