I love that rotation. The position players, minus a few exceptions, could be really boring but that rotation should be a lot of fun. Should be great to get first-hand reports from Toby too.

1. When you consider that the best hitters at St. Lucie are repeating the level (Puello, Flores), you basically have two "years" of A-ball entirely bereft of offensive talent. That's quite an indictment on the work the previous regime did in their final years on the job.
2. I'm sure we'll be a bit more comfortable about a few of these assignments when Baseball America lists the players beginning the season on the minor league DL.

Cordero is repeating Savannah? So much for them being high on him. He's 22 in his 5th professional season.
Just throwing this out there, cause I've been a Cordero booster and you've been more of a doubter.
But with the abundance of young pitching talent in Savannah, wouldn't it be possible that Sandy wanted a catcher there with a bit of experience?
Not at the expense of the player. You don't repeat a player you are high on just to work with the Savannah pitchers. I'm not going to get into a big Cordero debate again but the fact he is repeating isn't a positive in any way. If they wanted simply a catcher with experience they could have put Blaquiere. With Maron in Savannah with Cordero he's going to once again play half the games and be repeating the level.

It's incredible how few bats the last regime added towards the end. If you look at each roster you find very, very few even semi-interesting bats.

Wow, that’s a rotation and yes, it’s a true six-man rotation. Four of the six were ranked among my Top 41: Fulmer (11), Tapia (14), Verrett (35) and Montero (38). We’ll have lots from Gnats pitching coach Frank Viola about his charges. Tuesday, he and I talked about Fulmer, Verrett and Leathersich.
- That’s an old outfield. All five guys were born in 1989, and only Thurber is not 23 (he was born in December). Travis Taijeron was taking fly balls in center field and teammates are in awe of his power.
- That’s an even older infield. Aside from Aderlin Rodriguez, who’s 20, all of the other listed infielders are at least 23.
- I’m surprised Albert Cordero is back in Savannah. Dude hit .330/.373/.439 in his final 59 games in Savannah last year.
- No Brandon Nimmo and no Philip Evans, at least, not yet.
