I think I'd be okay with just about anyone shaking out to us except Devin Marrero.
I don't think Marrero falls to us, but either way, I'm still really lukewarm on him, so I tend to agree. He'll stay at SS, and I realize the bar for offense at the position is low, but he just isn't hitting at all. He had a great freshman year followed by a mediocre sophomore season and is in the midst of a terrible junior season.
Not a great year to be a potential 1st Round Draft Pick:

Matt Smoral, a lefthanded pitcher at Solon (Ohio) High, will have surgery on the fourth metatarsal of his right foot on Friday, April 6, his father confirmed in an e-mail to Baseball America. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Brian Donley of the Cleveland Clinic. Donley said the expected recovery time is 12 to 14 weeks and while he couldn't guarantee anything, he expects a full recovery with no limitations for Smoral afterward.
I really wonder how this terrible season will effect his draft stock. He seemed like a lock top 10 pick, but if he keeps hitting like this, there's little reason to believe he should be.
Nolan Fontana looks like the best college SS in the draft right now.
Keith Law has his 2nd version of his Top 50 Draft Prospect Rankings out. Buxton is still #1.
He's still very high on Marrero, ranking him 7th and saying he's heard that his floor is Pittsburgh at 8th overall.
Albert Almora made a HUGE jump is now ranked 8th. Kiley McDaniel, another contributor to ESPN's MLB Draft Blog, was a big fan of his too.
Giolito, for those interested, was 11th.
Richie Shaffer made an unsurprising jump to 12. He's just killing it this year; he's definitely someone I'd look into with our top pick.
Wacha falls to 15. He calls him a safe pick with a grade 50-55 fastball and plus changeup but doesn't have a good breaking ball. I'm still a fan of his, personally.
Andrew Heaney is a big riser coming in at 19; Law calls him the top college lefty in the draft with a 3-pitch mix that features an above average changeup and a deceptive delivery.
Another faller is Gallo, down to 22.
Metro-favorite Marcus Stroman is at 23; Law compares him to Sonny Gray, which makes me smile since I threw that exact comparison on him the first time I heard of him and saw him pitch.
Weickel and Dahl are big fallers, down to 27 and 29, respectively.
Alex Wood comes in at 38; Law says he's hit 94-96 on his fastball with an above average changeup but his breaking ball isn't very good.
McCullers cracks the list at 41. Law thinks he could be a late-1st round pick.
Law also does a little early mock drafting, saying he thinks the first four picks go Buxton, Zimmer, Zunino, and Appel, but the Twins could take Buxton if he falls to them (they pick 2nd overall).

Comment From Metro I'm a big Stroman fan. How high can he go in the draft? Can he remain a starter despite his height? 1:09
Frankie Piliere: The reports from scouts have been off the charts on Stroman this spring. I really liked him last summer but thought he was a closer. Apparently his changeup has been a difference maker this spring though. I still personally lean toward him being a closer but he's sure making a case. I think someone will believe he can start and make a move on him in the top 20.

Comment From Moose Do you think Richie Shaeffer makes it into the first round? 1:10
Frankie Piliere: I've thought all along the question would be does he make it out of the top 25. That's where I think he clearly belongs. First round bat for sure to me.

Hey Metro, I thought I would pass this along to you about Stroman. BA put out their Mid-Season Top 60. He is up to #9 from #22. This is what they had to say - 9. Marcus Stroman RHP Duke 22 Small but athletic with electric stuff, including a fastball up to 97 mph and the nastiest slider in the draft.

Very cool. I've been watching the highlights of all of his starts after the fact and he's absolutely dominant. Supposedly the changeup is much improved. 93-97 with a plus slider and a workable change? Nasty!

That's interesting to see as BA has a opposite opinion about Wacha. They have him jumping up 16 spots to #7
