Ike Davis out for early hitting today with Nickeas, Cedeno and Turner. #mets
Assume Ike is working on soft stuff away. Don't think it matters what the other dudes are working on to be perfectly honest.

AdamRubinESPN Surprise from TC: On days Francisco and Rauch unavailable, Miguel Batista may close. Did it in winter ball. about 1 minute ago · reply · retweet
Is this serious?
I can understand not anointing Parnell the closer if Francisco gets hurt, but turning to MIGUEL BATISTA to close if Francisco or Rauch isn't available? Really?

Mets have been pretty clear about not wanting to put Parnell in the closer's role for awhile -- if at all -- this season. Ironically, I think it's because they have future designs on handing the job over to him. Just not soon. Parnell has said that he's not ready for the role, and it's pretty interesting for a player to go on record as saying that.

Ike getting the day off tomorrow. Turner starting at 1B
Turner starting at 1B is much more depressing than Batista closing for a few days IMO.
