This is sort of weird

Jack Leathersich: 3 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 6 K... faced 10 batters. struck out 6. scoreboard had him mostly 88-89. one 91 mph fb.- Toby

So the results were excellent but so much for this supposed monster FB

Daniel Wexler ‏ @WexlerRules · Open
@tobyhyde Toby, I thought Leathersich was supposed to have plus velocity?
Toby Hyde ‏ @tobyhyde Close

I'm concerned about Leathersich now. That's much, much lower velocity then we have been told he normally has.

Hopefully.

I'd love to hear a firsthand report. Maybe he's one of those guys that looks faster than he is due to his delivery, like Edgin. I'll take missing bats over a good gun number any day of the week.

I hope so too. I guess the upside is he went 3 innings so one would guess he's not hurt. Just seems 5-6 mph slower than we have been told

Yeah, I swear we were told 98 when he was drafted.
