No timetable on how long he'll be out. Won't require surgery but will be splinted. Fracture is in the middle joint of his right pinky. :(

Does wright have the bone density of a 90 year old? Last year's injury didn't look like enough to break anything, and neither did that dive back to first...

Statement said finger would be splinted and re-evaluated tomorrow. Also said Wright "can return to baseball activity as tolerated."

With the way the Mets have been overly cautious with injuries, you'd think he'd have been DL'ed already. If they don't DL him after tomorrow's evaluation, one might think it's not that serious.

It's the middle of the pinky. If it was the bone near his palm he would've most likely needed a cast.

DL or no DL, we all know Collins' lovechild Justin Turner will get the at bats at 3B in his absence.

Bleh.

Since it will be for a few games, any chance Murphy plays 3rd and Turner plays 2nd. I know the Mets want Murphy to get comfortable at 2nd, but since it will be for multiple games, I would like to give the Mets the best chance to win those games.

Terry Collins said no DL decision immediately. Hand specialist will examine X-rays tomorrow. Collins said best-case return Friday.

Doesn't sound like a DL injury.

Team must have some type of info that's allowing TC to say stuff like this. If they thought it was serious, I highly doubt TC would be mentioning Friday in any sentence with Wright in it.

Of course his finger could fall off and force him into retirement...but the vibe I get is that this thing isn't a big deal.

Ike Davis was day to day last year. Said he hoped to play the next day when he left the park.

Also, TC announced to the writers pre-game that Wright had an X-Ray and it was negative.

There is no way that anything TC said tonight has any bearing on the timetable here.

Oh, and TC implied that Ronny Cedeno would likely see the majority of the time initially, and he wouldn't rule out moving Murphy there if it was long-term, which makes 0 sense in light of the fact that Murph couldn't move off 2nd for ONE EFFING GAME tonight because he needs REPS!

I'm surprised Jordany Valdespin isn't starting at 3B tonight for Buffalo....

I'd prefer Zach Lutz get the call with Murphy remaining at 2B than Valdespin get the call, play 2B, forcing Murphy over to 3B.
