D.J. Carrasco and Andres Torres will play for Class A St. Lucie on Monday night. Kirk decision clock ticking.

If they aren't willing to bench Bay 2-3 times a week then the right decision is Kirk to AAA.... BUT they should be willing to bench Bay 2-3 times a week.

There's no doubt he's one of your 2-3 most talented OFers at this point, and that he factors heavily into your immediate future. There are serious glove/platoon/other issues with the other OFers on the roster, enough so that they should be able to strengthen the team overall in a time share that plays to everyone's strengths. No way playing EVERYDAY in AAA benefits Kirk, or the organization, more than Kirk playing 5 times per week (or more, based on merit) here.
If it becomes Kirk sitting more than he's playing, or he's really scuffling, then you can reevaluate.

Well that's my point. You have to be willing to have Jason Bay benched 2-3 times a week for it to work. It doesn't make sense to have Kirk play 3/6 games a week. It needs to be some sort of platoon where Torres, Kirk, Bay all play. If you insist on Bay playing every single day then unless you are making Torres a 4th OF then Kirk is playing only half the games... doesn't make a ton of sense. Bay shouldn't play vs. righties to begin with... why not start that transition now?

Torres should be 4th OF, Baxter cut and Kirk here to stay
exactly...or if Duda is still hitting .143 when Torres is ready, ship him down to AAA for a week to get his stroke back ... and then when Duda's got his Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah back, either Torres will be ready for the DL again, or ship Baxter out...

Yeah, I don't see it as much of a decision. Kirk stays and plays. Bay and Torres split time. Baxter stays on the bench. Miguel Batista gets cut. And DJ Carrasco hopefully suffers a setback.

unfortunately, I know...but I'd see more benefit in Duda going down temporarily because Duda's more of a confidence in himself issue; Ike's issue is more with his interpretation of curveballs/strikezones/umpires and not seeing MLB pitching in almost a year...
We're NOT going back to the Duda arm-chair psychology deal again. Disallowed.
then I don't know what the answer is for the Duda/Davis dilemma...it appears that their awfulness is affecting each other...Duda won't see anything to hit unless Davis starts to hit; and Davis won't see anything to hit unless Duda starts to hit...
