So we're gonna use Acosta and Parnell twice in one day but of course Jon Rauch gets the day off. Gotta protect that setup man!

Miggy Bats IS AVAILABLE.

Gotta save him for the higher leverage spots, of course. He's the backup-backup closer!

I'm surprised someone didn't get tossed out of that dugout.

In hour 7 of awful baseball today, doubtful anyone besides Ike really still worrying about things like that.

The Kyle Kendrick Show in Arizona is getting kind of sad now. Upton just cranked one out; that's 11 hits and 7 runs (all earned) in 3 innings of work for Ruben Amaro's beloved long reliever/spot starter.

At least Parnell continues to look very very good.

They were all screaming at DeMuth so, unless they were somehow faking it, they apparently do care.

Nate Schierholtz tweaks the Citi faithful in a postgame interview.

Said "all 10 fans" let him know he needed a double for the cycle.

Looking at the strikezone chart, that 1st called strike (2nd strike of the at bat) was really the one that was truly terrible. The pitch that punched out Ike was a tad low but it looked a lot worse due to the way Sanchez framed it.

Bay bruised ribs on outfield play. X-rays negative. Reevaluated tomorrow.

This is one of those situations where negative is actually negative.

It was a brutal night out there; cold and miserable. I would have left in the third inning.

Jason Bay injured his left ribs when he went full out on an attempted catch of Gregor Blanco's shot to deep left field in the fourth inning.

X-rays were negative, but Bay was not fully comfortable after the game, describing the area as "sore." He said he was not breathing fully normally. He added that chest X-rays can be inconclusive, so he may undergo an MRI on Tuesday morning.

"We're kind of hoping it's just a bruise," Bay said. "I'd probably know a little more tomorrow, I'd imagine. I can't tell you how I'm going to feel tomorrow."

As for Monday night's X-rays at the stadium, Bay said: "They said nothing jumped out. That being said, they also said chest X-rays are very tough."
