There are plenty of deals to kill Cashman on. This isn't one of them. Pure results-based analysis.

I hate to go against the tide of community use, but can we put the stuff that's totally unrelated to the Mets in the General Baseball Forum?
Pineda's surgery really belongs in that forum, which hasn't been getting much use (not to mention the fact that the story is probably worthy of its own thread).

Tigers released INF Brandon Inge. The move likely would have happened sooner, but Inge's groin injury during spring training probably delayed the inevitable. The Tigers will still be responsible for his $5.5 million salary and the $500,000 buyout on his $6 million club option for next season, so he won't have a problem finding a new home at the major league minimum. The 34-year-old has spent his entire professional career with the Tigers, batting .234/.304/.387 with 140 homers and 589 RBI over 1408 major league games. Worth a look?

No on Inge. That's not much of an upgrade on anyone on the bench, and that is saying a lot. Too bad about Loewen.
Think Metro was being sarcastic.
Just being sure that if he wasn't, he should have been...hard to tell with that Metro guy with the number of tripe-y guys he slaps on the retreads threads...
